old fashioned fun. They’ll have a blast building
their skills in a variety of indoor and outdoor
games.

chef in no time!

more, campers are empowered to express their
inner artist and let their imaginations soar.
Rising Kindergarten
Transitional Camp
Transitional Camp Philosophy For children of all different backgrounds, the transition from a pre-school program into an elementary education program is an extremely exciting time! Students experience a sense of pride, wonder, and energy as they begin their journey into Kindergarten. However, with that excitement, many students also experience feelings of nervousness or uncertainty as they are not quite sure what to expect moving forward. Will Kindergarten be scary? Will they know how to do the activities? What will the teacher expect them to do? The fundamental philosophy behind our transitional camp is simple: we want to help rising Kindergarten campers reach their first day of elementary school with a sense of confidence. We want them to feel confident in themselves, their abilities, and most importantly, the opportunities that await them in Kindergarten and beyond!
Chesterbrook Academy Summer Camp 2018
Camp Structure In order to simulate a Kindergarten environment, our transitional camp is structured very similarly to our elementary camp program. Kindergarten campers will participate in the following activities typically reserved for our elementary camp programs:
• Elementary level activity stations • Daily free swim sessions • Access to the Innovation Lab (with video games!)
In addition, transitional campers will also participate in 3 off-campus field trips! The weeks and destination of these field trips are listed below:
Week 2 – Regal Cinema 20 Week 4 – Marbles Museum Week 8 – Bounce U
Although we pride ourselves on providing rising Kindergarten campers with the opportunity to participate in elementary level activities, we still recognize that it will take time for them to adjust. As such, our transitional camp utilizes the following pre-school concepts:
• Daily rest time in their homeroom classroom • Smaller group size to allow for more individualized attention • Activities that allow for more free exploration rather than fully
organized instruction
Extreme Camp
Extreme Camp Structure Warning - this camp is EXTREMELY fun! Campers in rising 5th through 8th grades will have a blast as they travel throughout the Triangle area participating in daily off-campus field trips and activities. Extreme campers will also enjoy the benefits of our elementary age program, including on-site free swim sessions, structured activity blocks, access to the Innovation Lab (with video games!), and the option to participate in both the catered lunch program and the weekly specialty camp programs.* Every morning, Extreme campers will check in with their counselor and eat a quick snack before embarking on their journey for the day. Once they return, campers will eat lunch, enjoy time at the pool, and participate in one to two activity stations.
*Due to scheduling, Extreme campers enrolled in specialty camps will not be able to participate in daily field trips as they are both conducted during the mornings*
