Liliana - For thoughtful comprehension answers. Jayden - For effort in Dance. Brianna - For her Christmas card design and creation in Art. NAIDOC Week Celebrations Last Monday students participated in the annual NAIDOC March and Awards Ceremony in Orange. Jordon and Mia were recognised with certificates of achievement, for improvement in reading and literacy skills. During the afternoon the students created their own boomerang art and enjoyed Dreamtime stories. There are more photos at the end of this newsletter. STEM We would like to thank Luke Buckland, Hugh Gardiner and Yann Guisard for giving up time on their weekend to concrete in posts and attach recycled pipes for our new playground musical instrument. Students have had a wonderful time creating their own music masterpiece before school and at recess and lunch. 2019 NSW PSSA Athletics Championships We wish Langdon and Skye the very best for their trip to Sydney tomorrow, representing Western Region to compete at state level in Athletics. New Blinds Our hardworking P&C has very generously donated some new roller blinds to replace the curtains in our front foyer. A big thank you to Sean and Christy Dobson for their time and skills to install them. They look great! STEM Training Miss Pickford, Mrs Shepherd and Mrs Guisard will be attending the final day of the STEM Academy training this Friday 8 November. Kinder Orientation We welcomed our Kinder 2020 students to school today for their first orientation day. The students had a great day with Mrs G in the infants classroom. Asthma, Allergies and Anaphylaxis Our school has a number of students who are at risk of seasonal asthma, allergies and anaphylaxis. A note went home last Friday describing the foods and allergens that affect our students. Families are asked to be mindful of these triggers and avoid sending them with your child to school. OSSA Small School Spectacular 2019 The full dress rehearsal and performances are only a few weeks away. Performances are on Wednesday and Thursday nights, 20 and 21 November at 6.00pm, Orange Civic Theatre

Tickets will go on sale on Wednesday 6 November through ticketek. Ticket prices are as follows:

Aboriginal Engagement Day Our students and teachers will be participating in the Aboriginal Engagement Day activities at Orange Regional Museum on Wednesday 27 November involving an Aboriginal storytelling performance, traditional weaving, a presentation about the emu in the sky story and artefacts display. There will also be a bush tucker and native foods workshop. The food workshop will support our STEM bush tucker garden project as well as engaging the students in the experience of a diversity of food sources. Please see the separate information and permission note attached to the newsletter.

Family Occupation and Education Index Schools are required to regularly update family information details to ensure accurate data is available to the Department of Education for funding allocations and budget distributions for schools. In preparation for the finalisation of the 2020 budget please find attached a family update form to be completed and returned to the school office no later than Thursday 14 November.
