An independent co�ee bar with craft beer, award winning speciality co�ee, a cute garden and a relaxed atmosphere. Hosting monthly art exhibitions, from paintings and prints to gra�ti, photography and more; the Fossgate Social runs open mic nights for music, comedy, and the spoken word. All events are free to perform, exhibit and attend.
City Screen hosts approx. 24 exhibitions per year in the bar and upstairs exhibition space. Our aim is to provide York with a range of shows and support artists and collectives with a space that does not take any commission. Percy Barkes has been selling Japanese woodblock prints in the Petergate shop for 40 years. Paintings from St. Petersburg and the Crimea were introduced in the 1990’s after the fall of the Soviet Union.
