letterpress table, 10 engraved illustrations, 62 wood-cut

illustrations. Contemporary calf, expertly rebacked

retaining the original morocco lettering pieces. Provenance:

Henry Seymer, Hanford, Dorset (armorial bookplate).

A fine set of the third and best edition of this "very valuable

collection, both for its range of coverage and for the fact

that it gives original accounts'' (Hill): complete with the

Osborne continuation.

many lithographed views by Imbert (many folding, two hand

coloured). Contemporary presentation full red morocco gilt,

by Wilson & Nichols, with the Arms of the City of New York

on the covers in blind. Provenance: Cornelius Agnew

(presentation copy from Alderman John Agnew).

Among the earliest works illustrated with lithography in the

United States: a rare presentation copy specially bound in

red morocco gilt.
