Flagship A: Johor Baru CityThe city centre may be familiar to Singaporeans, but there are plans to rejuvenate the centre to transform it into an international business district.
1. Coronation Square • This upcoming development will consist of a shopping mall and six towers, which include homes, of�ces, a hotel and medical suite.
• It is anticipated to be the jewel of the upcoming Johor Baru business district – Ibrahim International Business District (IIBD). Named after Johor Sultan Ibrahim Ismail, the IIBD is a RM20 billion (S$6.4 billion) plan that will improve the infrastructure in the area.
2. Princess Cove•This R&F Properties project which can be seen from Woodlands expects to complete three towers comprising about 1,600 residential units by the end of this year.
3. Vantage Bay Medical Hub• Backed by billionaire Peter Lim, this healthcare hub is expected to take up to a decade to develop. The company is working with its strategic partner, Thomson Medical.
4. Istana Bukit Serene• Built in 1938, the Istana Bukit Serene is the palace of the Sultanate of Johor. It is located on high ground and is a major landmark.
5. Danga Bay
• This waterfrontdevelopment along the coast has seen more residential developments.
• One of the largest projects in the area, Chinesedeveloper Country Garden’s 9,400-unit high-rise project (left), will hand over most of the units to owners by the end of this year. Other projects in the area include the Greenland Jade Palace and Tropicana Danga Bay.
• CapitaLand, Temasek Holdings and Iskandar Waterfront Holdings have announced plans to develop a $3.2 billion township here.
Flagship B: Iskandar PuteriSitting on 9,712ha of land, this is where many of Iskandar’s projects have been developed, led by Malaysian developer and masterplanner UEM Sunrise.
7. Kota Iskandar• This cluster of buildings houses the Johor state and federalgovernment department of�ces.
11. SILC• The 529ha Southern Industrial Logistics Clusters aims to be a “green” industrial park. It began its third phase of sales of 85 units in February. Of its 228 completed factories, more than 150 are in operation.
13. Motorsports City• The design of the motorsports hub was unveiled last December and has a targeted completion date of 2019.
• It features a track suitable for Formula One racing, as well as tracks for various motorsports.
14. Forest City• Country Garden is building four arti�cial islands spanning 20 sq km into a township, which is part of the Iskandar MalaysiaFlagship C. About 2.24 sq km, part of the �rst island, has been reclaimed. It sold 15,000 housing units last year, and aims to deliverthe residences by 2019.
6. Puteri Harbour
• This waterfront development mirrors Singapore’s Keppel Bay. Singapore-listed SUTL Enterprise will be involved in developing marinas here. A convention centre is also in the works. Residential properties have also sprung up, including condominium projects Teega Residences and Singapore developer Paci�c Star Development’s Puteri Cove Residences.
• The latest school to open in this education hub will be the upcoming Kolej MDIS Malaysia, the largest overseas campus of Singapore private education institute MDIS. It will be operational by the third quarter of this year.

12. Nusajaya Tech Park
• This joint venture between UEM Land and Ascendas has almost completely sold its �rst batch of 21 ready-built facilities. The units have been completed, and some tenants have already moved in.
8. Medini• This 908ha plot of land is envisioned as the future central business district of Iskandar Malaysia.
• The area hosts a Gleneagles hospital which opened in December 2015, as well as tourist attractions Legoland and the Mall of Medini.
