ABSTRACT
• The main aim of the neutral grounding is Protection,
Safety of the power system. grounding is to provide a
low impedance path for current to drain into the
ground at the point of fault with the least clearing
time.
• We are implementing proto type neutral grounding
system and also exhibit the characteristics of the
ungrounded and grounded system.
CIRCUIT DIAGRAM
COMPONENTS
• Single phase supply
• Single phase transformers
• Mess
• Wires
• Bulbs
• Wire Clips
COMPONENT DESCRIPTION
• Single phase supply: Here we use 230v ac supply.
• Single phase transformers : we using 230v/12v 3 step
down transformers connected to the load.
• Bulbs:12v/20w bulbs are used as loads the bulbs are
connected across each phase to the neutral.
• Wire clips: when the fault is created the crocodile clips are
used to make grounding.
CIRCUIT OPERATION
• We given single phase AC 230v supply to the three
single phase transformers which are step down to 12v.
• When transformer neutral is connected to the ground.
• When we are given single phase to ground fault at any
phase load voltage across that phase will be zero .
• Reaming healthy phases voltage will be remains
constant. So loads connected to the phases will be safe.
PROJECT REPORT• Half of the project was completed.• Ungrounded and grounding systems are completed.
ADVANTAGES • Voltage of healthy phases do not exceed line to
ground voltages i.e, they remain nearly constant.• Detecting the location of fault is easy.• Safety of personal is more.• High voltage due to transient line to ground faults are
eliminated.• It provides improved service reliability.
