What is an OUNet Account?
Information Technology provides all students with a user account on OUNet.
To access your OUNet account, you will need to know your OUNet ID or username (often referred to as your "4 by 4 or 4+4").
Your OUNet ID is made up of the first 4 letters of your last name (lowercase) + the last 4 digits of your 9-digit OU student ID number.
So, for example, if your last name is Sooner and your 9-digit OU ID number is 123-45-6789, then your OUNetID is: soon6789.
NOTE: If you have placed a Directory hold on your personal information so that it is not publicly available, you will also be assigned an OUNetID that is not based on your name or OU ID number.

Some services will not work with this default It is very important that you choose a new password as soon as
possible. There are some essential computer services that are not accessible if you do not change the password from this default value; if you are using the default password (pass####), you will not be able to access these services.
