- 13% (or 19, 397) of ELLs are receiving special Ed services (up from 9.6%)

In Network 14:- In 07-08, we had the highest # of SE
taking the NYSAA.- And had 103 SC and 41 CTT classes.- As a network, we showed a 2.8% growth
in ELA and a 9.0% growth in Math from 07 to 08.
- City showed 6.0% and 9.0% respectively.

Last year, when comparing the gains made in ELA between SE and GE students, SE students made gains between 2.3% (grade 4) and 12.8% (grade 8) –
Double and triple GE gains.

Although city and state stats are bleak when it comes to ELLs and SE students (i.e. nearly 40% of students who start school in NYC public schools are gone by the 8th grade – E. Green (NYU))
ESO Network 14 schools continues to show progress and gains with their ELLs and SE students.
