Nessa’s howl (hooded cowl) 1. Cast on 130 sts. 2. K 17 rows. 3. Knit this row as the rest, until last 20 stitches and cast of 6 for the buttonhole and then knit as normal. (The stitches casted off depend on the size of you buttons since mine are every large) 4. Next row knit as normal until 14 stitches in then cast 7 stitches and k2tog and knit as normal for another 10 rows. 5. Row 30 cast off 20 stitches, which should be on the same side as your buttonhole knit. And cast off thirteen at the end of that row. 6. Knit for another six rows. 7. Row 37 five stitches before the end of that row cast off 6 stitches for another buttonhole. 8. Row 38 knit as normal and cast on an extra 7 rows and k2tog 9. Knit another six rows. 10. Row 45 cast off 10 stitches at both ends of this row. 11. Knit as normal for 8 rows then on the next row k1 inc1 at both ends then the same every following row for 8 rows. 12. Then knit as normal till it reaches 17 inches from bottom edge till top of hood.
