Status of activities at Nerul Gymkhana:

It gives us immense pleasure to report that some of our existing facilities are

patronized almost to optimum level making our club vibrant. Gross Revenue

from various activities during current year and previous year are given as

The Passion Gym has been patronized by 679 Members and 624 Members Guest.

The Tennis Academy has been patronized by 172 members and 170 Members Guest

and the Tennis Academy has coached 150 Tennis Players.

The Swimming Pool has been patronized by 2479 members and society members,

6524 Members Guest and the Swimming Pool has coached 366 Swimmers.

We have a very active Cricket Academy with 294 Campers; the Cricket Academy

has brought laurels to NG by winning many tournaments.

The Happy Feet Dance Studio is patronized by 74 Members and 207 Member Guest.

The Taekwondo Class is patronized by 40 Members and 51 Member Guest.

The Guitar Class is patronized by 33 Members and Member Guest.

The Box Football is patronized by 46 to 60 people for about 10 hours. This has

significantly increased the footfalls to Nerul Gymkhana.

The following activities were carried out by the Gymkhana in the financial year 2017-2018

Summer Coaching Camp: - A Summer Coaching Camp

for Swimming, Tennis, Cricket & Robotics Camp was

organized from 1st April, 2017 to 15th June, 2017.

Cricket : 85 Campers were coached in 2 months.

Tennis : 5 Campers were coached in 1 month.

Swimming :- 427 Campers were coached in 2 ½

Months

Robotics Classes :- 10 Children participated .

Summer Camp:- Campers (Boys and Girls) in the age

group of 8 to 15 Yrs were introduced to Graphology,

Craft, Rubik Cube Training, Photography, Charcoal

Painting, Canvas painting, Yoga, Martial Arts, Cricket,

Football, Music, Dance Swimming etc. more then 30

children’s participated in this camp held on 9th May

to 13th May 2017.

Football & Cricket Tournament: - Nerul Gymkhana

associated with Seawoods Grand Central to organise

Box Cricket and Box Football 4 – A- Side Tournament

from 15th May to 4th June 2017. 25 Cricket Teams &

20 Football Teams participated in this tournament.

The winners & runners – up were awarded with

trophies.

Yoga :- Nerul Gymkhana in association with Yoga

Vigyan Sanstha organized a special yoga

Session on 25th June 2017 to introduce members

to yoga and healthy living. This was attended by

more than 60 Members & Members Guest.

Glorious Life & Health Shivir:- Nerul Gymkhana

organized Glorious Life & Health Shivir from 31st July

to 5th August 2017, Conducted by Chhoti Gurumaa

Objectives of the Shivir was Positive Thinking and

Better Time Management, Personality Development,

Self Confidence Development, Development of

Human Relationships, Improvement of Conversation

Skills, Awakening in Mind, Body & Soul for

Disease free Life, Benefits of Yog & Mudra Pranayam,

Control over stress. The occasion was attended by

more than 150 Members & Members Guest.

District Level Swimming Competition: - Nerul

Gymkhana organized 3rd District Level Swimming

Competition on August 20, 2017 under the aegis of

Thane District Amateur Aquatic Association for

children under the ages group of 6/8/10 & 12 for 30

Mtrs Freestyle, Butterfly, Breaststroke & Backstroke

categories for Boys & Girls. More than 170 children

from different Clubs and Gymkhana’s took part in this

Competition. The competition started with an event

for differently abled children. The Guests of Honor

were Mr. Rajaram Gagh para swimmer, who has

swum the English Channel and Satya Prakash Tiwari

medallist in the Asian para games. Certificate of

participation were given to all the swimmers. The

winners were awarded with medals and certificate of

merit.

Donation Drive:- Nerul Gymkhana organized Donation

Drive From 3rd August to 29th August 2017 NG

members donated Cloths, Books & Toys. These were

donated to the Panvel NGO.

Nerul Gymkhana Anniversary: - On completion of 20

eventful years, Anniversary Celebrations of our Nerul

Gymkhana was organized on 19th October, 2017 at

Nerul Gymkhana Amphitheatre. The participants were

entertained by a Musical Nite. As usual, Cake cutting,

Cocktail & dinner were an integral part of the event.

250 members & their guest participated.

Mumbai University Volleyball Coaching Camp:

Mumbai University of Mumbai organized Volleyball

Coaching Camp for Men on 15th & 16th November

2017 associated with Nerul Gymkhana, The camp was

conducted under the able guidance of Nerul

Gymkhana Vice President Shri Dhanajay Vanmali,

Annual Inter School Sports Quiz Contest: - 7th Nerul

Gymkhana Inter School Sports Quiz Contest was

organized on December 3, 2017. The Quiz Master was

Shri Pradeep Digvikar who is a Quiz Mater of

International repute. This year there was a record

number of 135 students comprising 45 teams from in

and around Navi Mumbai. The Winner was Tilak

Public School, Nerul Team – A with 480 points &

Runner’s Up was Fr. Agnel School, Vashi (Team B) with

470 points. The contest is creating a lot of interest in

the school children to learn more about international

and National Sports, which eventually, will encourage

them to engage in different sports activities. All

participants were awarded Certificates. Chief Guest

for the occasion Dr. Ajith Kurup, Vice Chairman &

Director of Tilak Education Society awarded Winner’s

& Runner’s - Up Team Trophies & Certificates.

New Year Eve celebration: - New Year was

organized at Nerul Gymkhana in grand style.

DJ, Sound and lights. Children arena with a

great ambiance and a lavish spread of

buffet over cocktails were the main

attraction. The occasion was attended by

more than 1000 members & their guest.

Annual Inter School Chess Tournament:- Nerul

Gymkhana Annual Inter School Chess Tournament

was organized on January 19, 2017, under the aegis of

TDACA. 24 Schools participated in the event. The

Winner was Ryan International, Kharghar with 15

points & Runner’s Up was DPS, Nerul, with 14.5

points. All participants were awarded Certificates.

Certificates.

T-10 Cricket Tournament for Members: - Nerul

Gymkhana organized T – 10 Cricket Tournament of

members on February 4, 2018. 4 teams participated in

the tournament. They were Nerul Gymkhana Team A

& B, Nerul Friend’s Team and Rotary Club of New

Bombay Seaside Team. The winner was Nerul Friend’s

& Runner’s up was Nerul Gymkhana Team A. This

tournament was a fun filled activity in which we could

see glimpses of cricketing skill of our members, who

are not able to take part in regular Cricket these days

due to their hectic daily schedule.

Holi Fest :- Nerul Gymkhana in association with

United Colors organised Holi Fest Event at Nerul

Gymkhana Ground on 2nd March 2018. This was the

biggest Holi Fest event of Navi Mumbai. The occasion

was attended by more than 1000 Members &

Members Guest.

Haasya Kavi Samelan:- Haasya Kavi Sammelan was

organized on 3rd March 2018 at Nerul Gymkhana

Amphitheater. The theme was “Holi Hai Titoli Hai”.

Five Kavi’s present were Shri Subhash Kabra, Shri

Rajinikanth Mishra, Shri Mukesh Gautam, Shri

Ghanshyam Agrawal & Shri Rajendra Malviya. The

occasion was attended by more than 450 members &

Members Guest.

T-10 Cricket Tournament:- T – 10 Cricket Tournament

was rganized on 26th March to 1st April 2017 at Nerul

Gymkhana Ground. The Tournament was organized in

memory of Late Shri Zaheer Shaikh (Qualitas Nerul

Gymkhana Cricket Academy Coach) total 16 teams

participated in the tournament. All participants were

awarded Certificates. Awarded Winner’s & Runner’s -

Up Team Trophies & Certificates.

managed by experienced coach Mr. Jalal Shaikh.
