• Current budget – Health Insurance programme will be appliedfor all without discrimination within 3 years from now
• Senior Citizens Treatment Guidelines 2005 - poverty affectedelderly people are provided free medicine and treatment up toNRs. 2000
Key recommendation: Insurance scheme for older person andsubsidized health service should be provided to poverty affectedolder person

Following the Madrid Plan of Action onAgeing, 2002, Government of Nepal hasenacted the important Acts / Regulations/ Action plans. And, Nepal is committedto addressing the existing gaps in theprotection and implementation sidesthrough various policy measures.
