0800 – 1600 Collaborative Advanced Airway Management for Nurses (CAMAN): AIME for NursesDo you find yourself wishing you knew more about airway management? Wishing you understood the WHY’s and the HOW TO’s about intubation and how to care for your patient after the tube is placed? Join us in Vancouver for the CAMAN course and get better prepared for a variety of airway management roles – regardless of the type of hospital or nursing station you work in. The course focuses on a variety of airway adjuncts, the medications commonly used during intubation, and optimization of ventilation, presented in a format of lectures and hands on skill stations. Participants work together to use a staged approach to oxygen delivery, ventilation techniques, including management of the difficult to ventilate patient. Good BVM technique is heavily emphasized. Participants will learn about airway assessment, RSI, awake intubation, surgical airways, and when each are recommended, as well as options for your team when facing a difficult or failed intubation.
