Partners for Inclusion, 84 Portland Street, Kilmarnock

Patti Scott and Dave Hasbury from Neighbours Inc.will

explore how to create the conditions that make it safe to fail,

learn, grow and support innovation in a complex world. What

are the relationships, the leadership and frameworks that make

this work and support good lives for people?

Neighbours International facilitates change in collaboration with

people with disabilities, their families, the agencies that support

them, the government that funds them and the communities

where they live. We all need people to dream, imagine the

future, direct their own lives and support, and makecontributions to as valued citizens and community members who

    belong.

On the one hand life is simple. It is about experiences, trying

new things, learning, growing, changing, becoming. On the other

hand life can be complicated because it is all about

relationships. And when issues related to disability are involved

it can be downright complex, as systems and services are laid

on top of the basics of what life is all about, at timesoverwhelming our basic desire to be, learn, grow and relate.

In this event we will explore what it takes to get back to the

basics of life, and how our complicated network of relationships

can create the conditions that make it safe and possible to

learn through trying, failing, trying again, growing in mastery,

taking advantage of things that work and letting go of things

    that don't.

We welcome anyone who is a part of these networks of

supportive relationships, including people with disabilities; their

families and the people who love them; personal assistants/

support workers who support their daily lives; agencies that

organise support; government bodies that fund this support andanyone keen to explore ways to make our communities

    stronger.

This event is being hosted by Partners for Inclusion at our

    offices in Kilmarnock.
