September 2016
Welcome Class of 2016! This is your senior year – you made it! Student Services is ready to help you through this year. Each month you will receive a Senior Newsletter via your school email account. Included in the newsletter will be valuable information to help you transition to life beyond high school – whether that be college, work, or the military. We will provide updates relative to careers, colleges, and scholarships as well as remind you of upcoming deadlines and advertise other opportunities. Your responsibility as a senior is to explore your possibilities and make informed decisions. See your school counselor and our Career Specialist if you have specific questions or need help in finding information.
Information presented in this newsletter will also be available in Student Services.

College Visits Seniors are allowed two college visitation days that are counted as excused absences. When you are ready to make a college visit, call the college’s admissions office and make an appointment. When you visit your college, have admissions write a statement on their letterhead verifying your visit. Bring that statement to Mrs. Smith in attendance when you return to school. Students interested in attending Midlands Technical College (or other technical schools) should take advantage of an excused college visit day by scheduling an appointment to visit the college campus and take the ACCUPLACER placement exam on the same day.
