NDIDA Online A web-based publication of the ND Implement Dealers Association January 30, 2013 David Meyer Elected NDIDA Chairman David Meyer, West Fargo, ND, was elected chairman of the North Dakota Implement Dealers Association during our 113th annual convention held in Bismarck, ND. He has been a member of the NDIDA Board of Directors since 1993 and served as Chairman in 2001. David is the Chairman and CEO of Titan Machinery Inc., which represents CaseIH Agriculture, Case Construction, New Holland Agriculture, New Holland Construction, and other manufacturers in the United States and Europe. Titan Machinery’s Shared Resource Center is located in West Fargo, ND. Upon the closing of a recent Serbian acquisition, the Titan Machinery network consists of 104 North American dealerships in North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, Wyoming, Wisconsin, Colorado, and Arizona, including two outlet stores, and 13 European dealerships David Meyer in Romania, Bulgaria, and Serbia. Titan Machinery employs 2,600 people. David is a graduate of the University of Minnesota. In 1975, he was employed by Case Company. From 1976-1980 David was a partner in a Case and New Holland dealership with locations in Lisbon and Wahpeton, ND. He cofounded the current Titan Machinery Inc. company in 1980. David is the past President of the North Dakota CaseIH Roughrider Group and the North Dakota Implement Dealers Association, former Board Member of the Lisbon School Board, Lisbon Economic Development and St. Aloysius Church Trustee. Currently David serves on the CaseIH North American Dealer Advisory Board. In 1991, he received the Friend of 4-H award. In 2009, he received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award. David and his wife Candace “Kandi” reside in West Fargo. They have three sons: Father Luke Meyer, Fargo; Matthew (wife Kari and daughter Cassidy, 2, and son Connor, 5 mos.), West Fargo; and Grady, a senior at Shanley High in Fargo. David Meyer Elected NDIDA Chairman David Meyer, West Fargo, ND, was elected chairman of the North Dakota Implement Dealers Association during our 113th annual convention held in Bismarck, ND. Keith Kreps Elected NDIDA 1st Vice Chairman The North Dakota Implement Dealers Association elected Keith Kreps, Fargo, to the office of 1st Vice Chairman during our 2012 convention in Bismarck. Keith has been a member of the Board since 2005 and served as 2nd Vice Chairman during the past year. Keith was born in Fargo and attended Moorhead High School, Moorhead State University, and the University of Mary. He joined RDO Equipment Co. in 1998 as the Midwest Agricultural Division Marketing Manager. Soon after, he transitioned into the position of general manager of the Breckenridge, MN store. In April of 2003, he was promoted to Vice President of Store Operations for RDO Equipment Co.’s eighteen Midwest and Northwest ag stores/locations. In September of 2010, he was promoted to Vice President of Agriculture, and assumed leadership of the remaining Southwest agriculture region. He currently is responsible for all 25 John Deere Agriculture locations that RDO Equipment Co. operates Keith Kreps in the United States. In November 2012, he was named Executive Vice President for RDO Equipment Co. Among other duties, he is responsible for all agriculture operations and also supports RDO’s Australian business and serves on the Vanderfield Board of Directors. (Vanderfield is a recent partnership between RDO Equipment Co. and the Australian John Deere dealer network.) Active in his industry and community, Keith has been a John Deere Dealer 20 Group member since 2003, and a John Deere AMS Advisory Group member in 2003 and 2004. He is a past president of the Moorhead Jaycees. He enjoys golf, traveling, woodworking, and spending time with his family. Keith and his wife, Erin, reside in Fargo and have two sons: Jorden, 23, and Alex, 19.

Brian Hanson Elected NDIDA 2nd Vice Chairman Brian Hanson of Grafton was elected 2nd Vice Chairman of the North Dakota Implement Dealers Association during our 113th Annual Convention. Brian is the Dealer Principal of Hansons Auto & Implement in Grafton. He has served on the NDIDA Board of Directors since 2006. Brian was raised in the farm equipment business, and is a second generation Board Member, following in the footsteps of his father, the late Gary Hanson, who served as President in 1999. Gary and partner Eddie Kopperud established Hanson Kopperud in 1973 as an International Harvester farm equipment and truck dealership. In 1984, they added Chevrolet and Oldsmobile car franchises. In 1985, they were successful in obtaining the CaseIH franchise after the Case and IH merger. In 1992, Hansons purchased Mr. Kopperud’s half of the business, and in 1999, the name was changed to Hansons Auto & Implement. In March of 2000, Hansons purchased Morrison Equipment (CaseIH dealer) in Cavalier. In 2004, they purchased Lykken Inc. (GMC, Buick, and Pontiac dealership) in Grafton. Brian says he started in this business as most kids of a family owned implement business do, working odd jobs, stocking parts and doing clean up through his years at Grafton High School and Valley City State College. He graduated from college in 1990 with a degree in Business Management and Administration, and started full time in the dealership as a parts counter person. In 1992, he assumed the Parts Manager’s position, which he held until 2001, when he became General Manager. He assumed the Dealer Principal role in the fall of 2002. Brian is a member of Grafton Lutheran Church, and a past member of the Stewardship Board. He is also a member of the Grafton Optimist Club; Spoiler Booster Club; Grafton Youth Basketball Board; and the Walsh County Job Development Authority of which he is a Past President. Brian and his wife, Ranell, have five children: Stephanie (20); Paige (16); Jaden (15); Jillian (15); and Cole (13).

Jay Pickrel Elected NDIDA’s Newest Director Jay Pickrel, Jamestown, ND, has been elected to serve on the Board of Directors of the North Dakota Implement Dealers Association. The election took place at the association’s 113th annual convention held recently in Bismarck, ND. Jay is General Manager of Jamestown Implement, a John Deere dealership in Jamestown. Born in Tucson, AZ, Jay attended Superior High School, and earned an MBA from the University of Phoenix. He has experience in the heavy duty truck and truck stop industries, along with the wholesale gasoline and diesel fuel industry. In 2000, Jay was recruited to join a John Deere dealership in Utah. He spent 7 years managing a 7 store operation in Utah and southern Idaho. In 2007, Jay came to North Dakota to take the position of General Manager at Jamestown Implement. Jay and his wife, Lupe, reside in Jamestown. They have three children: Kayla Hansen, 23, Emma Pickrel, 13, and Whitney Pickrel, 10. Active in his community, Jay currently serves as the local ecclesiastical leader for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Mike Weisenberger Elected National Director

Mike Weisenberger, Complex Manager, Titan Machinery Inc., Grand Forks, was elected National Director for the North Dakota Implement Dealers Association during our organization’s 113th annual convention. He will represent NDIDA on the Board of Directors of the North American Equipment Dealers Association for a three year term beginning March 1, 2013. Mike was a member of the NDIDA Board of Directors from 2000 to 2011, and served as NDIDA Chairman in 2008. Mike was born in Stanley, ND, and graduated from Stanley High School. He then attended North Dakota State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanized Agriculture. After his parents retired from the family farm, he began working in the service department at Borud Implement, Stanley, and spent summers there while in high school and college. In 1984, he graduated from NDSU, and began in sales with Reiten & Young International, Grand Forks. He later became manager and then president of that dealership. Reiten & Young was purchased by Titan Machinery Inc. in December 2007. Active within his industry and community, Mike has served on the Case IH National Dealer Advisory board, and has been a director for the Case IH Roughrider Board. He is a member of Trinity Free Lutheran Church and serves as Chairman of the Congregation. He has also been involved in YMCA Youth Sports as a soccer and basketball coach. He is currently Chairman of Valley Memorial Homes. Mike and his wife, Jill, reside in Grand Forks and have two children: Betsy, 23, and Luke, 20.
