G. B. Pant National Institute of Himalayan Environment, Northeast Regional Centre, Itanagar

and Arunachal Pradesh Science Centre, Itanagar has jointly celebrated the International Day of

Biological Diversity and Bharat Ka Amrut Mahotsav on the 22nd May, 2021. Different online

competitions included painting, photography and short article writing competitions were

successfully organized. A total of 289 the entries were received online out of which 19 entries

were for Short article writing competition on the theme “We’re Part of the Solution – for

Biodiversity Conservation”, 108 entries were for Painting in junior category, 50 entries were

for Painting in senior category on the theme “Protect Plants and Animals – Protect Nature”

and 101 entries were for photography competition for the theme “Biodiversity of Northeast

India”. Besides several entries from Northeast India mostly form Arunachal Pradesh and Assam,

there were also entries received from other states of India like Utter Pradesh, Tamilnadu, Odisha,

Maharastra, Telengana, Jharkhand and Andaman and Nicobar Island. The winners of the these
