That vision applies to summer camp as well.

We have lots of great offerings—athletic, academic, fine arts, and even a cooking camp! Our camps are designed to foster relationships, build skills, and excite the imagination. Our camp directors are experienced and talented educators, guided by their Christian faith, and trained in their fields of study.

this camp provides valuable instruction on the fundamental skills of baseball. the focus will be on teaching efficient mechanics for throwing, hitting, fielding, and base running —while emphasizing the mental aspects of the game. this camp will also bring in guest speakers with professional and college experience to sign autographs, interact with the kids, and share some stories about their playing days.

Boys Basketball Camps direCtor: mike mcPherson <bio

the camps’ focus will be to demonstrate and instill the core fundamentals of basketball, including: passing, shooting, dribbling, body positioning, court awareness and motivation. high school players will serve as assistant coaches and mentors to the campers—providing multiple opportunities for personal attention and a one-on-one work environment. fundamentals will be reinforced through supervised games of three-on-three, four-on-four, and of course five-on-five. the camp will close with a free throw Competition and a 3-Point tournament; prizes will be awarded! basketballs will be provided; campers may bring their own ball (please be sure their name is on it). snacks will be provided. Campers should bring water and wear t-shirt, shorts, socks and sneakers.

Mike McPhersonBoys Basketball Camp Director

mike mcPherson, nCs head basketball Coach, has garnished quite a few accolades throughout his career. he averaged 23 wins per season during his 10 years as head coach for ezell-harding’s varsity girls’ program, amassing 233 wins against 78 losses. While at david Lipscomb, mike took the 2009 var-sity boys’ team to state. in the 14 years com-bined as head coach at ezell and Lipscomb mike has been selected “district Coach of the year” five times and “mid-state Coach of the year.” he has accumulated five reg-ular season or district championships, a regional Championship, and taken three teams to sectionals and one to state.

Phillip MontgomeryAll Sports Camp Director

Phillip montgomery is the head coach for nashville Christian’s boys and girls varsity track team and the offensive coordinator for the high school football team. make no mistake though, this successful coach knows how to lead a fun-packed, action-filled sports camp.

Ben WilliamsBaseball Camp Director

Coach ben Williams is in his fifth year at nashville Christian school. in his first year the eagles put up a 26-10 record, won the district 10 Championship, and became the first team in school history to make the state tournament. Prior to nCs he coached at Lipscomb university. Prior to that he played for Lipscomb university—during which ben Williams was awarded (2 times) the ken dugan award—the highest award given to a Lipscomb baseball player. before Lipscomb, he played at Gordon Col-lege. during his sophomore year he led the nation with 62 stolen bases.

Cheer Camp’s main purpose is to inspire spirit on and off the field. the nCs Varsity Cheerleaders will assist Coach Crosby in teaching cheerleading fundamentals such as motions, cheers, sidelines, dances, jumps and stunts. a parent “pep-rally” will be held on the last day of camp.

Jeff BrothersFootball Skills Camp, Football Padded Camp Director

Last season, Jeff and his assistant coaches led the eagles to their third straight state semi-final appearance. in his five years with nashville Christian school, the eagles have produced 45 all district players and 6 all state players. Last season, Jeff was once again recognized as Coach of the year in his district and his coaching staff has been awarded staff of the year in their district three years running. With 13 years of head coaching experience (21 overall), Jeff brothers has helped more than 30 players go on to play at the college level.

Shelly CrosbyCheer Camp Director

shelly Crosby, nCs Varsity cheerleading coach, brings twelve years of College, all-star, high school and middle school cheer leading experience to the camp. for five years, shelly was a cheer instructor for the universal Cheerleaders association (uCa), where she led cheer camps, at all levels, across the united states.

Brandon WoodGirls Basketball Camp Director

Coach brandon Wood has coached nash-ville Christian’s girls varsity team for 9 years and the middle school team for 5 years. Last year, brandon’s Lady eagles were dis-trict Champs and went deep in post season play—all the way to substate. three of his players were named all district.

Kayce GreenVolleyball – All Skills Camp Director

Coach kayce Green has been the nCs head volleyball coach for 4 years. she has com-piled a district record of 60 wins against seven losses, an overall record of 125-32, two unde-feated district seasons; two district titles; one region title; two years traveling to sub-state; and earned the 2013 Coach of the year. this is her sixth year coaching aau/usJVo volley-ball. she is the 13-national coach, fundraising and assistant director at Club West Volley-ball, a national us Junior olympic club.

Golf Camp direCtor: keVin forte <bio

this camp is designed for the older (middle school) athlete. it will introduce all aspects of golf including: the long game, short game, putting, and chipping. the program’s aim is to teach the camper proper golf etiquette and to provide the child with the basic skills necessary to enjoy a game of golf with a parent, independently.

John Crosby has been the director of nCs strength and Conditioning program for seven years and nCs football defensive Coordina-tor for the past seven seasons. his philosophy is based on explosive-movement style train-ing to enhance athletic abilities in all sports.

Kevin ForteGolf Camp Director

kevin forte is a 15-year member of the PGa of america, and currently the head Golf Professional at harpeth hills. he has served as an assistant Golf Professional at Link hills Country Club, Willow Creek Golf Club, as well as mcCabe and ted rhodes Golf Cours-es. While at Willow Creek he served on the teaching staff of brad redding, a Golf digest top 100 instructor.

Ashley PageGirls Softball Camp Director

ashley Page is the head Coach for the nCs Lady eagles softball team. she has been in-volved in playing and coaching the game of softball for 30 years. her teams have ac-quired multiple tournament championships as well as a state title. her philosophy: teach the fundamentals and the winning will come.

this camp is for the novice as well as the experienced wrestler. the camp will focus on the basic fundamentals of wrestling with live competition daily. Participants will learn takedowns, pinning combinations, tilts, escapes, and reversals. our camp mission is to encourage all young wrestlers to develop a love of the world’s oldest sport, as well as to teach them the rules and techniques for middle and high school competition.

do you love books? do you enjoy creating your own stories? if so, then “elementary authors” is the camp for you! each day, you’ll journey through the steps of the writing process as you look at books, play games and do crafts. however, the most exciting part is that you will not only learn the steps of the writing process, but you’ll also put them to use as you write and illustrate your very own story! once complete, each story will be sent to a publisher where it will be transformed into your own personal hard back book!  registration  for this camp ends may 15. space is limited to 15 students. there is a $20 non-refundable deposit required to reserve a place.

Jerry morrison is the technology director / tech teacher at nCs. he has been working in the tech industry for almost 10 years, with the majority of that time spent in the edu-cation arena. along with teaching program-ming and web design, he has been using minecraft in his classes to teach teamwork, digital citizenship how to survive the occa-sional zombie attack.

Tammy CurtisBaker’s Dozen Camp Director

tammy Curtis is a wife, mother, and proud grandma, who has always had a love for chil-dren and cooking. trained in baking and dec-orating from a course on the Wilton school of cake decorating and having worked in our cafeteria for many years, she is currently nCs’s head chef. one of her staff said of her, “you know, she’s a grandma, so she cooks with love and lots of butter.”

Shelley GreenleeElementary Authors Camp Director

shelley Greenlee is a graduate of belmont university, where she received her bs in elementary education. she is certified to teach k-8 and has taught a variety of ages in her 10+ years of teaching. she loves to teach writing and has always enjoyed helping her students find the fun in creative writing. she uses a multitude of techniques to teach the writing process, all while preparing students for higher-level education writing.

nicole arnold is in her twenty first year at nCs. in her time here she has directed over 50 productions at nCs and in com-munity theater. mrs. arnold is the current president of Cheatham County Community theater where she both acts and directs. a 5-time participant in the tennessee arts academy, she is also artsmart certified through the tPaC humanities outreach in tennessee.
