Distance Education information “Distance education was the best choice for me because i travel frequently with the military and my time for studying varies.”
“i needed to take a few courses to fulfill my prerequisite requirements for medical school. i would definitely do this again. i learned a lot from the courses online and feel that it delivers equal information as a traditional in-class course.”

We offer distance education graduate and undergraduate degrees, certificates, and teacher licensure programs in our core academic strengths, which include engineering, technology, science and education, among other academic disciplines. Our DE programs are the full equivalent of our campus programs; they receive the same accreditation as campus programs and are taught by NC State faculty. They provide maximum schedule flexibility, allowing you to enhance your current workplace skills or prepare for a new career. This is particularly important for students who are unable to attend campus-based classes due to geographic location, work schedules, or other life circumstances.
Admissions requirements and program director contact information are listed for each program of study. We encourage you to communicate directly with the director of the program or programs you are interested in. Or contact the Distance Education office if you have questions or if we can be of assistance.
