DJ’s Opening

Our project has to do with what helped the Nazi party gain

strength in turning an entire nation against the Jewish People. How were people brainwashed into believing that the root of their problems was in one group of

people?

John Nigro’s Research

The man behind Nazi Propaganda and Propaganda in Radio.

Josef Goebbels

Prime minister of propaganda

Has power over all cinema, press, radio, etc.

Brainwashed an entire country

Made Hitler into a “demi-god”

Hated the Jews, and used his position to influence others to his opinions

Nazi Radio• Developed cheap affordable radios, Volksempfänger, so poorer

Germans could listen.• Were able to listen to Hitler’s infamous speeches, Anti-Semite

broadcasts, etc.• The most famous Nazi broadcast: Nuremberg Rallies

• Was a quick and easy way for Hitler and Goebbels to brainwash the population

Emilie Banz’s Research

Nazi Proganda in Books, Magazines, and Essays.

Nazi Propaganda In Books, Magazines, and Essays cont.

Mein Kampf is probably the largest example of Nazi propaganda.

Hitler dictated his feelings to Rudolph Hess, and then had his book published.

In Mein Kampf, Hitler talks about his ideas for Germany. It is in this book that Hitler speaks about his “Aryan Race,” and his loathe of the Jews and the Slavic peoples. This book is the basis for all Nazi Propaganda, because it is the source.

John Gozzolino’s Research

Nazi Propaganda in Newspapers.

Marxelle Cortez’s Research

Nazi Propaganda in Television and Film.

Propaganda in Film

Film was used to show Hitler in a positive light as often as possible.

The Nazi’s commissioned several films.

One important propaganda film, “Triumph of The Will”, was created by Leni Riefenstahl.

The film contains excerpts from speeches given by various Nazi leaders at the Congress, including portions of speeches by Adolf Hitler.

Propaganda in Television

Hitler was on the verge of creating an Orwellian-style cable TV system to broadcast Nazi propaganda around Germany.

He attempted to have a variety of different television programs to influence the German Society:

Sports Programs Educational Programs News Programs Reality Television Programs and more.

Hitler early on realized the power of television propaganda. His address at the opening ceremony of the Berlin Olympic Games in 1936 was broadcast to system of bulky mobile TV stations where Germans could watch in town squares.

DJ’s Closing

In the end, it is easy to say that our group learned a lot about how Media and strong propaganda swayed the minds of thousands. Through television, articles, films, and much more, we saw that even the Holocaust can seem appealing when we watch through our rose-colored glasses, and see only what the media wants us to see.
