About This Document The purpose of this document is to give you, the new and beginning user, a quick overview of how to use Medicare Navigator to connect to FISS. This document takes you through the basic steps of setting up and connecting to FISS with Medicare Navigator.

It leads you through the instructions for:

• Adding the website to the Internet Explorer® Trusted Zone

• Downloading a Login Script

• Installing an Active X Control

• Running the Login Script Automatically

• Testing the Login Script

The specific requirements of working with a claim will vary. You will likely supplement this document with information from your department head or supervisor.

About Medicare Navigator eSolutions develops innovative cost-management and revenue cycle tools for today's health care industry. Over the years, we have worked with thousands of providers to develop web-based systems which correct billing and coding inaccuracies and accelerate cash flow.

Medicare Navigator is our tool for high-speed Internet connection to the Medicare system. It provides you with rapid and secure access to:

• Direct Data Entry (DDE)

• Fiscal Intermediary Shared System (FISS)

• Common Working File (CWF)

Medicare Navigator will transform the way you connect to the Medicare DDE system. Features include:

• High speed, HIPAA-compliant connection to all your Medicare fiscal intermediaries

• Ability to open multiple fiscal intermediaries at once

• Desktop accessibility

• Integration with MedicareSAM and MyMedicareData

You can connect to the FISS as you are working through your claims. Connecting faster means you can work faster. This allows for maximum productivity at a minimum cost.

How Does Medicare Navigator Work? Direct Data Entry (DDE) lets you enter claims in the Fiscal Intermediary Standard System (FISS) with the ability to perform editing, correction, status and beneficiary eligibility inquiries (HIQA and HIQH). Medicare Navigator is an actual connection to FISS. It lets you navigate to and work with claims in all the FISS regions for which you have access. You work with information directly from the Common Working File (CWF) and Multi-Carrier System (MCS).

You can get complete claim data and update claims in the RTP status. Because you have a live connection with Medicare Navigator, the changes you make to a claim take effect immediately.
