Background• Founded in 1978 by Jacinto Anielle Rhines, Jr. • has outreached into inner city schools to self esteem uplift our

inner city parents children and youth of all ages, as well as our teachers on all grade levels in South Los Angeles, particularly at our local neighborhood schools, near Normandie Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard

• Has recently transformed what once was a storefront drug house into 3 connected units of Nutritional, Cross Cultural, Self Respect Upliftment at 1444, 1446, and 1448 West Martin Luther king Jr. Blvd in L.A.

• The 3 units are the Natural Soul Food Non-profit Café, the 1st Marathon Mom’s Mushland, and the Community Sensitivity Dining Room

Values

• It is a challenging task to sensitize White people with hard hearts toward greater needs of Black children in America, especially as it pertains to the black youth whose negative N word, B word, pants sagging, gangster rap influence is copied and admired by all other children and youth worldwide. Every White corporate apathetic executive, only concerned about his or her children, is unknowingly practicing institutionalized racism, passed on from generation to generation through most White families, with no concern at all for Black children victims of racism, thinking they are no worse off than other kids with greedy color blind selfishness cruelly and inadvertently helping to kill and destroy Black kids and their own kids.

Missions • The Natural Soul Food Non Profit Cafe in Los Angeles and its

connected cultural and artistic counterparts for other cities to similarly nutritionally and cross culturally serve other national communities. The first and foremost purpose is to use "Pay What Taste Buds Say" as the unique and unselfish theme as we have done in Los Angeles to gain trust and bring out integrity especially within a low income community where each non profit franchise in other cities should be located

• Unselfish living is our key

My personal connection

• As a student, I’ve taken classes where my pupils have been culturally diverse, and I’ve heard many stories of them having experience racism

• In my history classes I’ve learned about slavery, the civil rights movement and the dangerous process of arriving at the point of equality

• I’ve come to hate racism and wish for a better world where equality and peace exist
