The museumhome o the poet Gabriele DAnnunzio,Vittoriale degli Italiani, is located in GardoneRiviera. It houses valuable archaeologicalnds, historic relics and, among the treeson the hill, even a boat, ready to set sail to

In Limone del Garda, the lake is intenselyblue, and the prevailing winds rom the northdraw hordes o water sports enthusiasts

This is an area that is stilllargely unknown to tourists, and it only takesa ew hairpin turns to take you away rom

the colours and lights o the lake towns intoa new dimension. Here, the vegetation, thewilderness, the great orests and high clisdene the rhythm o lie. Lovers o good oodwill enjoy the local cuisine, which eaturescheeses such as Tombea and numerousfavourul dishes served with polenta.Alto Garda Park shelters a number o animal

The waters o the lake becomechoppy and the air bracing. The natural beauty and thearchitecture o the Liberty-stylevillas enthral the senses.

Lake Iseo strikes the visitor with its uniqueness, primarily because o the island oMontisola in the middle o the lake, the largest lake island in Europe.Montisola does not allow automobiles, and the rhythms o l ie recall a time when the entire economy was based solelyon shing, net making and the crat o wooden boat building. The recollections are powerul; in the local trattorias, resh sh is served right rom the lake; some small businesses are still building wooden boats, authentic jewelsexported throughout the world. The nets, which were once used just or shing and constituted one o the leadingsectors o the modest economy, today decorate the gates o elds where the ootball national championships areplayed. Montisola is a romantic place almost orgotten by time. A trip to the summit on oot or in a minibus to see the

church o the Madonna della Ceriola yields a spectacular view o the entire lake and the surrounding towns. Amongthese, Iseo is the main city and the one with the most tourist acilities - hotels, campsites and sports centres.

    Lake Iseo

The entire perimeter o the lake is surrounded bymountain slopes, rom which spectacular views

can be enjoyed.O particular interest is the view rom Monte Guglielmo. It is an enormousgreen barrier that seems impenetrable but is the perect place or awonderul walk. Anyone with good legs can easily climb to the top andenjoy a panoramic view o the lake and the vast Padana Plain (Po Plain). Its not enough to describe the sense o tranquillity and the relaxedatmosphere. In act, throughout the year there are many visitors to thelake, thanks to its wealth o cultural activities, many opportunities to have
