Our History

Established in 1997 by Jocelyne Brisson and Gabriel Melançon, Emu Dundee is the fruit of its founders’ shared passion for two things: emu breeding and natural health-care

products. In fact, in 1988, Jocelyne was the first woman to import and breed these exotic birds in Quebec. Her determination and courage, coupled with Gabriel’s keen business savvy, set them on a course to develop their dynamic company in a sustainable way.

A forerunner in the area natural health products and dermocosmetics, Emu Dundee has incorporated the benefits of emu oil into its products. All of them are manufactured locally, in small batches with high-quality, healthy, natural ingredients. Far more than a simple cosmetic care product, emu oil has been shown to provide numerous benefits. Recent research into emu oil has concluded that it has properties that can reduce the appearance of wrinkles and promote skin elasticity. When combined with the various active natural ingredients in our products, emu oil amplifies their effectiveness. Emu Dundee is proud to be able to offer you such high performance products.

Hyaluronic acid: An ally against aging. Found naturally in the skin, hyaluronic acid stimulates cell renewal and stops cells from deteriorating. It moistens the top layer of skin and fills creases and wrinkles to preserve the face’s suppleness and natural radiance.Hyaluronic acid is an ingredient in our lip balm and Vitali + day cream.

Allantoïn: allantoin is an active soothing and repairing agent found in the roots of the comfrey plant. The plant itself is known for its regenerative and healing properties. It ensures good skin hydration and helps to eliminate dead skin, leaving your skin soft and supple.Allantoin is an ingredient in Eczemeu, Refreshing Milk, hand cream and in tattoo ointment.

Aloe Vera: An indispensible ingredient, well-known for its healing and anti-inflammatory properties. Our aloe vero is certified organic and fair trade.Aloe Vera is the main ingredient in our refreshing milk.

Arnica: Gathered wild, arnica is recommended for soothing bruises, sprains and muscle and joint pain.Arnica is an ingredient in Flexo Pro, dry oil and massage oil.

Colloidal oatmeal: Colloidal oatmeal is more and more widely used as a natural means of relieving itching and soothing minor skin irritations such as acne and insect bites. As well, it softens sensitive skin.Colloidal oatmeal is found in our line of baby care products as well as in our body cream and shower gel.

Shea butter: We source our shea butter from organic and fair trade agriculture. It protects, softens and restructures damaged skin and improves elasticity as well as providing in-depth moisturizing and nourishment to skin that is subject to harsh weather such as sun and cold.Shea butter is an ingredient in our body cream and lip balm.

Bisabolol: Bisabolol is a chamomile extract that has active soothing and anti-inflammatory properties. As well, it is anti-bacterial and aids in healing, making it ideal for sensitive or irritated skin.Bisabolol is an ingredient in tattoo ointment, refreshing milk and lip balm

Actually, our emu oil is of such high quality that it can also be taken internally. Gélule Santé is a major source of natural fatty acids including omega 3, 6, 7 and 9 that are useful for maintaining good overall health, including skin, hair, nails and eyelashes.

Each gel cap contains three ingredients: emu oil, krill oil and black cohosh. Black cohosh is the root of a plant that has been used for centuries in indigenous communities for pain relief including symptoms of menopause
