What to Expect at NYLT
NYLT is a challenging and rewarding six-daylearning experience. It is not just another week of Scout Camp! Leadership is taught in a Troop setting to make the learning fun and allow immediate application of the leadership principles taught.
Patrols are created with participants from
friends and learn the steps involved in team building. Teamwork is reinforced by cooking meals, actively competing, and working together as patrols throughout the experience.
It is an honor to be selected by your troop orcrew to represent them at this course. You arethe best of the best. Because of the nature of the training provided, attendance for all 6 days of the course is required.
There will be lots of fun, making of new lifelongfriends, and creative challenges. In 2014, 100% were glad they came to NYLT and most of themvolunteered to sta the following year.
NYLT is an exciting, action-packed program designed to provide Scouts, Varsity Scouts, and
Venturers with leadership skills and experiences they can use in their home troops, teams, crews,
personal lives, and in other situations demanding leadership of self and others.
