METHOD 2001, 2008:

• Web-based survey in three separate modules

• Distributed to over 3,900 colleges and universities

• To presidents, provosts, chiefs of administration

• Sent letter of introduction to all presidents

• 892 respondents completed entire survey

• An additional 223 respondents completed about 20% of the survey

• Responses came from:– 470 Presidents or executive officers– 320 Provosts of academic officers– 325 Chief of facilities of plant operations
