National Safety Science Quiz 2014
National Council of Science Museums, a premier institution involved in popularizing
science through informal mode, in partnership with UL India a premier Safety Science
Company is organising National Safety Science Quiz 2014 for school students during August-
October 2014 to inspire the young minds for a safer India. This is the first time that a quiz on
Safety Science is being conducted at national level and is aimed to have an immense
educational and experiential impact. This quiz is aimed at instilling a greater awareness on the
need for safety amongst school children and will look to spread the message through safety
education across the country.
This unique quiz would revolve around topics like Electrical, Fire, Road, Environment
and Food safety that are relevant in our day to day lives. The preliminary round of written
test will be held at five major cities – Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai and Bangalore.Each
participating school can send up to a maximum of 20 students from class IX to class XII. The
entries shall be restricted to 1000 students per city for the written test and shall be on first
come first serve basis. The written test will be held on Sunday the 21st
September 2014 at
11a.m simultaneously in all the five cities. The top six students from each of the five cities will
be invited to participate for further rounds to the Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological
Museum (VITM), Bangalore in the last week of October 2014.
Registration for the written test will be done online. The hard copy of the entry form in
the prescribed format, duly signed by the Head of the institution of the participating school
including authentication of the photographs of the participant should be sent by post to reach
Visvesvaraya Industrial & Technological Museum, Kasturba Road, Bangalore 560001 on or
before 4th
September 2014.
