Description, continued: cornice over windows w/ jigsawn appligue. Significance, continued: among the most intact and best preserved. The pedi­mented window and door surrounds and the porch supports with molded capitals are p a r t i c u l a r l y noteworthy. I t s f i r s t owner was Thomas Wiley, a physician who came to McKinney from Alabama in 1866. Although Wiley b u i l t another home in the 18905, which was razed in the 1970s, he owned t h i s house on S. Church St. u n t i l his death in the 1940s. City directories from various years in the 20th century reveal that i t was a rent house.
