NATIONAL LEVEL TECHNICAL SYMPOSIUM

CEZERS’ 2k18

A national level technical Symposium “CEZERS’18” was conducted by the

Department of Civil Engineering on 20th

March 2018. The event had a huge response from

other reputed colleges such as College of Engineering –Guindy, Tirumalai Engineering

College, Aksheya Engineering College, VIIT, St Joseph Institute of technology etc. There

were 75 other college participants. The day greeted us with pleasant and memorable

moments. The session comprised of forenoon and afternoon which was held from 9.00 am to

4.15 pm.

Morning Session:

The session began with tamil thai vazthu. Our Head of the Department Dr. K.

Sivalingam welcomed the gathering and followed by the presidential address given by the

Principal “Dr. A Devaraju”. The academic coordinator “Mrs. P Vasanthi” delivered the

introduction about the chief guest. The chief guest for the morning session was Dr.

Gokulabalan, Consultant and founder of Dhakshana Institute. The resource person has 15

years’ experience in the field of civil engineering. The speech given by the chief guest was

very invocational and motivating. He also explained about his experience and journey he has

travelled to the place. Hournable CEO “Mrs. Sujatha Maran” also attended the function and

greeted all the gatherings and motivated the students for further cooperation and enthusiasm

for conducting such function. The session was followed by a five minutes video about civil

engineering and a short film “(A)Lacthiyam” created by the II year students of our

department.

The session was finished with small refreshment and the events were started.

Afternoon Session:

The session began with the introduction of the chief guest by “Mr D Parthiban”,

Assistant professor. The chief guest for the session was “Dr. Karthikeyan” MS, ME, and

founder of Karthikeyan Academy. He has an experience of about 15 years in the field of civil

engineering. The session was followed with prize distribution for winners and runners. The

session was completed with vote of thanks given by “Mr S Vignesh”, Student Chairman,

ACET and followed by national anthem.

The group photo was taken with the chief guest and all the students such as other

college participants, IV year, III Years, II years and I Years
