Mayor Aaron Lee Wittnebel Appointed to National League of Cities

Community and Economic Development Policy and Advocacy Committee

Washington, D.C. – Aaron Lee Wittnebel, Mayor for the City of Lake Park, Minnesota has

been appointed to the National League of Cities (NLC) 2014 Community and Economic

Development Policy and Advocacy Committee. This committee has the lead responsibility for

developing NLC federal policy positions on issues involving housing, community and economic

development, land use, recreation and parks, historic preservation and international

competitiveness. The appointment was announced by NLC President Chris Coleman, Mayor, St.

Paul, Minn.

“I am honored to be appointed to this committee by Mayor Coleman, and excited to represent

the views of small rural communities in the Midwest, like the City of Lake Park in our

continuing efforts to keep small cities sustainable and our quality of life great.” – Mayor Aaron

As a member of the committee, Mayor Wittnebel will play a key role in shaping NLC’s policy

positions and advocate on behalf of America’s cities and towns before Congress, with the
