Welding is now the universally accepted method of permanently joining all metals.

In some respects, it might be considered a mature industry but it is still a growing

industry. Some of the key challenges lying ahead for the welding industry are:

Ÿ Productivity issues and decreasing profit margins due to increasing costs and

expenses;

Ÿ Technological issues towards the increasing trends in use of higher-strength &

lighter-weight materials;

Ÿ Quality issues requiring higher levels of reliability;

Ÿ Accelerating trend towards automatic welding and automation;

Ÿ The seminar will cover invited lectures by some of the bests in the Industry and

Academia, and papers will be presented by experts, researchers, industrialists,

entrepreneurs and welding professionals.

The meet intends to cover related topics which can be as follows:

Ÿ • Advancement/Innovation/automation in existing technology;

• Metallurgical & welding aspects of various advanced metals;

• Key Design aspects and performance factors;

• Economics of Welding, Safety, QA & Failure Analysis;

• Repair, Reclamation, Maintenance, Surfacing & Weld Overlay;

• Welding Qualifications and various International Standards;

• Productivity, Quality, Inspection and Testing in Welding / Cutting;

• Welding Education, Training and Certification;

• Other Experimental/Modeling Investigations.

About the Seminar

he Indian Institute of Welding (IIW-India) is a national level professional body of welding fraternity

Tdevoted to the promotion and advancement of welding science & technology. It was established on
