King Abdullah has also sought to resolve conflictsin the Arab and Islamic world. Peace in the Middle East and the plight of thePalestinians are of particular concern to him. He has played a key role in brokering agreementsfor a Palestinian national unity government and areconciliation accord between Sudan and Chadon Darfur. 5. His most lasting principle, "national independencethrough personal independence." Throughpersonal independence, an individual does nothave to depend on the strength of another. 9. GreeceDifference to Rizal: Leonidas was a Military King that used to fightand kill enemies that wants to destroySparta, while Rizal didnt kill anyone just toprotect his landSimilarities to Rizal: They were both brave to fight for the country. Though Rizal didnt do what Leonidas way tofight, but still they are willing to give their life justfor their country. 18. RussiaKuzma Minin 19. Minin distinguished himself as a skilled commanderand was made a nobleman and member of the BoyarDuma under the newly elected Tsar MichaelRomanov. 20. RussiaDifference and Similarities to Rizal: Like Jose Rizal, Kuzma Minin was defended hiscountry against the Polish invasion and give hisloyalty for his King, as well as to his country.Being loyal like Jose Rizal did in our country,signified for their similarities as a hero even if theyfought for their country in a different way. 21. VenezuelaSebastin Francisco de Miranda Rodrguez 22. Venezuela He was a Venezuelan Revolutionary. He prepared an expedition to invade Venezuelaand free it from Spanish rule, and he broughtalong the flag that would become todays nationalsymbol. Even though his expedition failed, he wasregarded as a forerunner of Simn Bolvar, whoduring the Spanish American wars ofindependence successfully liberated a vastportion of South America. 23. VenezuelaDifference and Similarities to Rizal: They both seek independence for their country. Mirandas expedition failed but Rizal never. They both came from a wealthy family, went to finest private schools, but experienced discrimination because of their race. Miranda died in prison, while Rizal was executed. 24. ArgentinaRodolfo Jorge Walsh 25. Argentina He is a writer, activist, and journalist, founder ofinvestigative journalism. He is most famous for his Open Letter from aWriter to the Military Junta which he wrote the daybefore his murder, protesting that their economicpolicies were having an even greater effect onordinary Argentines than their human rightsabuses. Four years later he was killed during a shoot-outwith a special military group that set an ambushfor him. His body and some of his writings werenever seen again. 26. ArgentinaDifference and Similarities to Rizal: They both contest wrong doings by writing. They ought for peace for their land and justice for its people.
