• Integrates the Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence Systems (C4I) on large deck ships
• Integrates land-based Tactical Operations Centers (TOC) and Mobile TOCs C4I to enable P-8 maritime patrol aircraft
• Integrates carrier Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) to shipboard C4I
We keep the legacy and upgraded hardware & software interoperable.2

Modernization Transition to Strike Group Capability-Based Modernization of large deck ships
• Systems are getting more complex• Fleet struggles to keep up with the changes• Unmanned Systems are changing the Fleet• Capabilities of the threats are increasing
Status quo is not good enough, change is inevitable.4
Challenges
• Sailor self-sufficiency• Digitization of the systems• DEVSECOPS• Standardized integration
The operators need a better solution.5
How to address the challenges
Sailor self-sufficiency• Need to simplify the configuration,
maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting and self healing capabilities of complex systems
• Need better remote training tools, easy access to troubleshooting info at sea/degraded comms
• Need the systems to help the sailors not challenge them
• Need to constantly update systems to protect them, adapt them and enable more capabilities
6
Digitization of the systems• Drawings, capabilities based, with baseline
settings, configuration guide• System status; constant monitoring across the
integrated systems with diagnostics
7
DEVSECOPS• Enterprise DevSecOps environment to concentrate
on mission-centric capabilities, less on infrastructure• Infrastructure as Code (IaC):
Ø Development, Operations (staging), and Deployment are on the same baseline!
Ø Every update is always checked for design and cyber risk.Ø Central environment for pushing information and updates
to the fleet to enable actionable knowledge.
8
Standardized integration• UAS operating with manned aircraft and TOCs
require standards in network connections, C4I• CONOPS are expecting all sensor nodes to
interoperate and not add additional systems• Carrier based UAS will require additional
landing and flight deck control systems
