School Insurance

Parents are reminded that the Education Department does not provide personal accident insurance or ambulance cover for students.

Parents and guardians of students, who do not have student accident insurance/ambulance cover, are responsible for paying the cost of medical treatment for injured students, including the cost of ambulance attendance/transport and any other transport costs.

In some circumstances, medical or other expenses will be paid by the Department where it is assessed that it is likely, in all the circumstances, that the Department is liable for negligent (careless) acts or omissions of its staff/volunteers.

Student accident insurance/ambulance cover policies are available from some commercial insurers, and can be obtained by school councils on a whole-of-school basis, or by parents/guardians for individual students.

Private property brought to school by students, staff or visitors is not insured and the Department does not accept any responsibility for any loss or damage.

Misplaced Uniform

We have had a size 8 skort and size 8 blue uniform shirt handed in to the office. The uniform has been mixed up during the swimming program and has gone home with the wrong child. We are looking for a size 4 skort and size 6 shirt that has gone home with the wrong girl. Please contact the school as soon as possible and we can swap the uniform over. The child will most likely be in Mrs Butler’s or Miss Brown’s grade.

Nathalia Community Fundraiser

There is information in this newsletter about a community fundraiser to raise money for the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in support of the Wilson family. Their daughter Ella is currently receiving treatment at Peter Mac and the community has shown fantastic support for the family at this difficult time.

The staff at Nathalia Primary School has entered a tennis team in the tournament which should be entertaining in itself. There is also a fun run for primary school aged children. I encourage everyone in the community to support this important event and to come along and enjoy the evening.

Swimming Program

The swimming program will continue into next week to try and fit in the ten days of the program. There is no swimming on Monday or Tuesday next week due to the secondary colleges’ swimming sports.

Nathalia Canoe Club

Come and join us for a great family activity that is

just on your doorstep.

Nathalia Canoe Club meets during Term 4, 2015

and Term 1, 2016 on Tuesdays at 5 pm to 7 pm next

to the Broken Creek boat ramp.

All equipment supplied – life jackets, canoes and

paddles.

No previous experience necessary and beginners

are welcome.

Membership for Juniors only $15.00 and $60.00 for

families. BBQ available for a small fee most nights.
