This involved a case study of Ensham Mine in Queensland, Australia Sept 2012 – Feb 2013 UNIVERSITY OF LEOBEN, AUSTRIA INTERNATIONAL STUDENT EXCHANGE – 4TH YEAR The University of Leoben (also known as Montanuniversität) is the country's university for mining, metallurgy and material science. Experience September 2014 – November 2015 GAP YEAR IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA Being a passionate photographer, I decided to take a gap year after finishing my two engineering degrees. I spent 14 months living in Los Angeles, where I travelled and photographed a total of 29 National Parks/State forests, 18 major cities, and many more small towns across 5 states. I captured over 6000 high-resolution images. Also during my gap year I volunteered numerous times at the Los Angeles Food Bank, which is an organisation that focuses on sorting and distributing food to Socio-economically disadvantaged families and the homeless. The University of Leoben gathered a team of masters and undergraduate students to conduct a feasibility study to optimize the mining method over the entire mine life. Roles and Responsibilities: 3D modelling using the geological data to determine the optimum mining locations Development of a more effective mining method in conjunction with a cost/benefit analysis
