The Sounds are trying to avoid being swept for the second consecutive series at First Tennessee Park. Left-hander Dillon Overton starts for Nashville against right-hander Asher Wojciechowski for New Orleans. Yesterday: A 3-0 Nashville lead turned into a 6-3 deficit when New Orleans plated six quick runs in the top of the fifth in- ning. New Orleans used four extra base hits in the fifth, including a triple by Destin Hood to break open the game. Chris Smith was cruising along when trouble started. He had allowed only one hit through four innings and racked up seven strikeouts in the process. Joey Wendle belted a two-run homer in the seventh to pull the Sounds within a run at 7-6 but that’s as close as they’d get. They brought the tying run to the plate in the ninth but closer Brian Ellington struck out three in a row to close it.
