For more than 200 years, music has shaped the history of Nashville. And in return,

Nashville has shaped the very nature of music in America and around the world.

Today, Music City still attracts not only visitors with a song in their hearts but also

thousands of songwriters, musicians, singers, producers and engineers from far

and wide. They are the heroes behind the hits and the true citizens of Music City,

the place and the creative spirit. And you can catch most of them...

the stage is set, and the curtain is rising as Music City

embarks on a new era in the meetings industry.

Already recognized as a premier host city, the

renovations at Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Centerand construction of the Music City Center and Omni Nashville

Hotel downtown are expanding the capacity to welcome even

more groups to this world-renowned destination.

At 1.2 million square feet, the Music City Center triples the

current downtown convention space and is the centerpiece of

an exciting new meeting and event campus that encompasses

Bridgestone Arena, the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum,

the Schermerhorn Symphony Center and the new Omni Nashville

Hotel. Best of all, the campus is literally just steps away from

all of downtowns popular entertainment and dining venues.

The Music City Center, which opens its doors in early 2013,

features a 350,000-square-foot exhibit hall with uninterrupted

spans of space and an acoustic design allowing it to double

as a concert hall. The facility also includes 57 meeting rooms,

a 57,000-square-foot ballroom and 32 loading docks for ultimate

exibility. The project, which is committed to garnering LEED

silver certication, seamlessly incorporates green space with

a thoroughly modern design aesthetic that includes nativelimestone facades and a curved rooine mirroring the

    rolling hills of Middle Tennessee.

Located just across the street, the Omni Nashville Hotel,

also opening in 2013, will serve as the headquarters property

for the Music City Center. Featuring 800 rooms and suites and

an additional 80,000 square feet in meeting and event space, the

Omni Nashville will capture the citys spirit through innovative

design and elegantly appointed interiors. The hotel will include

retail venues, a large tness center, multiple dining options,

    pool and luxurious Mokara spa.

Adding to the excitement, the Omni Nashville will connect

to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. The famed

musical landmark is planning a multimillion-dollar expansion that

will increase exhibit areas and dovetail with the museum and hotel

at various levels. The Country Music Hall of Fame will also operatean 800-seat theater adjacent to the hotels meeting space, and music

memorabilia will be displayed in designated areas of the hotel.

The current Nashville Convention Center continues to serve

guests with its signature attention to detail and customer service.

Plans are in the works to transition the center into a Medical

Trade Mart after the Music City Center is operational. Nashvilles

worldwide reputation as a leader in health-care services, research and

management makes it the logical choice to host such an ambitious

project. Already, the Healthcare Information and Management

Systems Society has announced it will relocate its headquarters

to Nashville as part of the 1.5-million-square-foot project. On the northeast side of town, the magnicent Gaylord

Opryland Resort & Convention Center has undergone a stunning

transformation. When the rains came down in Nashville in May

2010, the resulting ood caused damage to the beloved resort.

But there has been an incredible silver lining. The Gaylord Opryland

leadership team committed to re-imagining public and private

spaces to exceed every expectation. The result is simply spectacular.

The Cascades Lobby features a contemporary new look, along

with ve new restaurants and lounges, and a VIP check-in area with

technology additions to enhance customer service. The hotel has

also redesigned its presidential suites and completely renovated the

Magnolia guest rooms, which are imbued with sophisticated style.

No matter how many times youve visited Music City, prepare

    for an entirely new experience.

even More to loveIn addition to exciting developments with the citys

premier meeting facilities, Nashville is celebrating a host

    of other expansions.

The Nashville International Airport sets the right tone from

the minute you touch down. A comprehensive renovation project

has already brought 30 new dining and retail establishments to the

terminal, including homegrown treasures such as Tootsies Orchid

Lounge, Noshville and Whitts Barbecue. The rst phase also

included a consolidated central security checkpoint. In 2011,

the second phase wraps up with the unveiling of an expanded

ticket lobby, renovated baggage claim area and airline gatewaiting rooms, updated wall coverings and ooring, enhanced

infrastructure and a restroom renovation project.

By the end of 2011, the highly anticipated consolidated

rental car facility, CONRAC, should be completed. The 900,000-

square-foot facility can house 2,400 rental cars and 10 rental

car companies, and features car wash bays and fueling stations.

After doubling its size in 2010, Nashville Shores is at it

again. For 2011, the water park added Kowabunga Beach. The

four-story-tall water treehouse and sprayground has more

than 70 interactive features and includes four water slides, bridges,

tunnels and a giant bucket that tips hundreds of gallons of water

every few minutes. The all-new RV Resort and Campgrounds also

opened in 2011 with more than 100 RV sites and cabins, including

waterfront sites on the shores of Percy Priest Lake.

Want to host a meeting with real star power?

Music City is singing your tune. With convention centers located in both

attractive resort and vibrant urban settings, meeting plannershave two great options from which to choose.

Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center, locatednortheast of downtown, features a complete menu of on-siteservices and amenities in an opulent setting. After oodwatersdamaged much of the magnicent property in May 2010, the resortunderwent a massive rebuild and debuted spectacular new publicspaces and luxurious rooms and suites in time for the holidays.Back better and more beautiful than ever, the hotel and conventioncenter will feel brand new even to those who have visitedmany times before.

The downtown Nashville Convention Center continues to servemeeting planners with signature style, while construction on the1.2-million-square-foot Music City Center is well under way andscheduled for completion in early 2013. Opening later that year, theOmni Nashville Hotel with 800 guest rooms and more than 80,000square feet of meeting space will serve as the headquarters hotelfor the new convention center.

Both the downtown and Opryland facilities are just minutes fromthe Nashville International Airport, which also recently underwenta major renovation. Nashville is centrally located and easily accessibleby air or interstate. Located within a days drive of 50 percent of the

countrys population, Interstates 40, 24 and 65 all intersect here. The convenient location adds to the citys overall affordability.

Consistently ranked as one of the nations top 25 meetingdestinations, Nashvilles hotels are known for their attentionto service, yet their rates are generally lower than other markets. And, of course, Music City delivers even more value when factoringin originality, charm and hospitality.

Flexible space, affordable luxury and a worldwide reputation

that attracts delegates in droves its no wonder Music City has

attained superstar status among meeting planners.

    corporate Meetings

Event Logistics Inc. is a global meetings management company,

and we have been privileged to manage the meetings for

Tractor Supply Co. for many years. The relationship with

Nashvilles venues, the CVB and the city has been a wonderful

partnership. The ease of travel, exible meeting space and

fantastic entertainment venues make Nashville a meeting location

that we are hard pressed to duplicate elsewhere. Topping it off

are industry professionals who provide exceptional service lled

with warm and Southern hospitality. The meeting attendance

grows substantially each year, and we are anxiously looking

forward to our move to the new Music City Center in 2014.

When we planned our rst-time bid to host this conference

in Nashville, the Nashville CVB put together a proposal and

site visit that blew away all other competition. From that point

through the conference, the CVB team provided exceptional

support, guidance, ideas and expertise. It helped make our

event a huge success and gave our host committee complete

condence that we were providing a unique and outstanding

Music City experience to our 1,000 attendees.

Nashville was hit with devastating oods in May. The Gaylord

Opryland was one of the casualties. So only a month or two

before our meeting and with 8,000 attendees registered

we were faced with a tough decision. But then the Nashville

people in the midst of all their misery made an incredible

effort. They worked night and day for two months to make

alternate housing and meeting arrangements. In so doing,

they showed us how much they wanted us there. They became

so much more than just a host they became a partner.

Somehow, Nashville pulled it off. And, in pulling it off,

Nashville showed its commitment to the entire meetings industry.

When we realized we had to relocate almost 3,000 people who

had been booked at the Opryland, we nearly lost hope. ButNashville never did. And this event ended up being one of our

most successful conventions ever. Now, we are booked to return.

    religious

We bring about 7,000 clergy and lay people together for

a ve-day event, and we work with a modest budget and a

small staff. Our guests often participate because their faith

communities have asked them to, so the resources used

to get them to Assembly are not just limited, but precious.

The Nashville Convention & Visitors Bureau staff gets that.

Generous with their time, talent and expertise, they

helped resource us to promote our event, and to host our

brothers and sisters among the Disciples of Christ. They

were patient and completely professional. We are a small

Assembly by some standards, but we were treated like

the most important event to ever come to Nashville.

Clearly, Nashville has prioritized hospitality and given

the CVB permission to express it on behalf of the

    whole city. Well done!
