NASCLA ACCREDITED EXAMINATION PROGRAMNASCLA’s Accredited Examinations are used by state contractor licensing agencies to test candidates who are applying for contractor or trade licenses. These examinations are designed to reduce redundant licensing requirements and assist contractors who need to be licensed in multiple jurisdictions. Candidates who pass NASCLA’s Accredited Examinations will be entered into the NASCLA National Examination Database (NED) which is a national registry that serves as a clearinghouse for people that have taken NASCLA’s Accredited Examinations.  NED has two (2) main features: 1. Applicants register on NED in order to send their transcripts to other state contractor licensing agencies who accept the examination and 2. State agencies access NED to view applicants’ transcripts and validate that they have passed the examination. For more information on NASCLA’s Accredited Examination Programs, please visit the NASCLA website at www.nascla.org.

“e NASCLA Accredited Examination Program provides the means to allow a contractor to receive credit in other states for examinations they have taken in their home state. is in turn helps the contractor avoid the extra expense of travel, meals, hotels, etc., the time away from their work and families, and the stress of having to take another examination every time they cross a state line.”   —– Doug Traylor, Director of Examinations and Assessment, Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors
