source board for the ELVIS II contract and a member ofthe transition team. I worked with the contractor toimplement significant Key Performance Indicators tomanage the contract across technical, schedule andcost parameters. I worked closely with a small team ofcost analysts and project managers to provide oversightof the contract and deliver Quarterly Award Fee Reportsto the Program Manager.

I have enjoyed every one of the NAL luncheons. Eachspeaker presented informative and inspiring informationabout NASA and space exploration activities. Therobotics team presentation provided a glimpse of howNAL's financial support is utilized. These young studentswere so excited about their project and their plans forfurthering their engineering studies. The Shuttle Atlantisvisit, when Delaware North opened the Visitor's Centerat night just for NAL, was spectacular. But, the very bestpart has been getting to know so many of the pioneersand architects of the space program. NAL has addedanother dimension to my appreciation for the NASAfamily.

Jim Kennedy, Former Director KSC(20032007)

Chair, NALFL EducationCommittee

My coop experience began atKSC in 1968 in DesignEngineering. I joined MSFC in1980 and worked there until

2002 when I moved to KSC as Deputy Director. AtMSFC I served as SRB Project Manager, Director ofEngineering, and Deputy Center Director.

When I retired in 2007, I had intended to immediatelyjoin OUR NASA Alumni League, but because wetraveled a lot, we felt we could not participate. Howwrong we were. After finally joining last year we realizedwhat a wonderful "gift" it is to be part of the organization. The NAL affords an opportunity to enjoy fellowship andcontinue the long and distinguished legacy of our NASAand the Kennedy Space Center. To those who areconsidering joining NAL, I encourage you to give it atry...you won't regret it.

Army Ballistic Missile Agency's (ABMA) Missile FiringLab (MFL) at Cape Canaveral. I became a NASANetworks Technician in LVO, a System Engineer, andTechnical Assistant to the Director; then EnvironmentalProgram Manager for DE; Biomedical ProgramManager/Environmental Health Officer for MD; and TotalQuality Management (TQM) Staff for KSC. In 1992 I leftNASA to become VP for International Education at BCC;then Titusville Campus President; and finally ExecutiveDirector of Aerospace Education, founding NSF'sSpaceTEC, retiring in 2013. It's been rewarding andFUN...

The NASA Alumni League has put me back in touch withfriends and colleagues from my earliest days in NASA.The meetings and outings are special events in my life. NAL speakers and visits to KSC provide insight into thelatest plans and activities at NASA, and information in avariety of technical fields keeps me current. I treasurebeing part of NALFL as a way to share and "give back"in support of aerospace.
