Short Itinerary

Wednesday July 8th: Meeting Point, Milan MXP Malpensa Airport Arrive Milan MXP by 11.00 – direct flights from JFK, London and TLV arr

10.30- 11.00 – or better to arrive a day early to relax before the tour starts.

From the airport we go straight to Lake Maggiore for a tour of the lake

where we will visit the magnificent gardens on Isola Bella, the “beautiful

island”, and as much else as time allows. Lunch on board will keep us going

until we reach our hotel in Verona in time for dinner.

Thursday July 9th – Lake Garda day: our bus will bring us

to the beautiful lakeside town of Lazise.

After a short stop here, we’ll walk the

lovely 3 km path along the Lakeshore to

Bardolino to visit the weekly outdoor

typical market. A boat ride north will

enable us to experience the lake, eat our

lunch and arrive at Malcesine to board

the famous cable car to get the best

possible “overview” of the Lake. Our bus

will then bring us “home” for dinner.

After dinner there will be a session with Susie. For those who wish, at extra

cost, Verdi’s “Nabucco” in the world-famous Roman “Arena” in Verona, set

in the Temple in Jerusalem תובב"ה.

Friday July 10th: another full day guided tour on Lake Garda: Sirmione

with its beautiful Roman Villa in the morning followed by a pizza lunch in the

only kosher restaurant in the region. After lunch, we’ll visit 2 small villages,

Castellaro Lagusello and Borghetto. These places really give the idea of how

life was in the past. In Castellaro we’ll visit a lovely villa with an English

garden and in Borghetto we’ll walk up to a Medieval castle for the panorama

over the hills. Then “home” to prepare for Shabbat.

July 11th – we’ll daven

in the shul

with what

remains of

this tiny

community,

eat (several

times) and relax in our gorgeous hotel. After the heat of the day has passed

we’ll enjoy a guided walking tour of Verona. Shabbat ends late (just after

10pm) so we’ll just have time to go into town for a beer and/or a coffee…..

Sunday July 12th – Visit to the towns of Mantova and Sabionetta followed

by a session in the kitchen with Susie and the chefs. For those who wish, at

extra cost, Verdi’s “Aida” in the world-famous Roman “Arena” in Verona.

Monday July 13th – Final day to enjoy all that Verona and Lake Garda

have to offer, a day offering choices of hiking, relaxing, boating, and a

myriad of possibilities to suit all tastes, followed by a final session with

Susie leading up to the final gala dinner.

Tuesday July 14th – choose between a ride to Venice or Milan to continue

your vacation to take a flight home.

Kashrut: a mashgiach tmidi will represent the Chief Rabbi of Venice,

Rabbi Mino Bahbout; Glatt meat from MisterMeat Milan, regular approved milk and milk products, but chalav yisrael observers can be accommodated.

flights: You will be met at Milan Malpensa MXP airport; on departure day, we

will bring you to Venice or Milan.

opera: Nabucco prices from $150 - $450 per ticket

spending money for shopping: shops and markets abound – you’ll have

time to “burn the plastic”, if that’s what makes you happy!!

upgrades: deluxe rooms (DLX), and single occupancy are available at an

additional price (see booking form).

insurance: all clients should be aware that while all efforts are made to avoid

any problems before during or after your trip, Naomi carries no insurance for

your health or luggage. While using the services only of registered suppliers,

we recommend that you purchase fully comprehensive travel insurance

as Naomi cannot be held liable for any mishaps during your stay.

tips: we recommend $200 per person per week for drivers, chefs, waiters and chambermaids: we will collect and distribute for you.

As always, we strongly recommend that you come to Milan the day before

the tour, enjoy the city centre and a meal in one of the kosher

restaurants.

Best is to stay at the Sheraton Hotel inside Malpensa airport. That way

you can relax on arrival and need not get up too early to meet the group

Wednesday morning. There is a regular shuttle bus service to and from

the city center. If several people come early we will arrange transfers

and meals for you.

This will help you recover from the journey and avoid any risk of your

missing the start of the tour. We cannot wait for late arrivals as we have

a packed itinerary that Wednesday and it is unfair to other guests. The

cost of "catching up" to the group by taxi is MUCH greater than the cost

of a night at the hotel!!

We will book this night for you and there will be a kosher breakfast

available before leaving on the tour.
