Classic Yacht Exhibition and Rainbow Parade There are two events that we recommend for those interested in seeing some of the beautiful boats that will be in Nantucket Harbor later this week:

The Opera House Cup Classic Yacht Exhibition - Straight Wharf - Saturday, August 20th from 5:30 - 8pm - Come tour some of the most special classic wooden yachts in the world. Participating yachts include: Dorade, The Blue Peter, Tilly XV, Dolphin, and Santana, plus many more. The host yacht is Brilliant. Find more information and purchase tickets ($50pp) here. This event is for ages 13+ only.

The Rainbow Parade - Brant Point - Sunday, August 21st - 9:40am - Watch the beautiful Rainbow sailboats lead the Classic wooden yachts out to the start of the Opera House Cup regatta. The Rainbows will pass by Brant Point at 9:40am. Wonderful viewing from Brant Point! This is a great activity for children of all ages. This is a free event. Learn more here.

Nantucket Race Week IS HERE! Nantucket Race Week (August 13th - 21st) is here! NRW is Nantucket Community Sailing’s biggest fundraiser of the year - helping us to raise roughly a quarter of our annual operating

budget. View the schedule of events here. Please join us!

The NRW Kiteboarding Regatta took place off Bass Point on Sunday, August 14th.

Opera House Cup Raffle - Great Prizes To Benefit Nantucket Community Sailing - tickets are available on the NRW website, at the NCS Main Offce (4 Winter Street), and will be sold at the Nantucket Yacht Club and Great Harbor Yacht Club during Nantucket Race Week. Each ticket can be designated to one prize of your choice. Winners will be announced at the Opera House Cup Awards Party on Sunday, August 21st. Winners need not be present. Prizes include a Wachusett Mountain ski vacation, a Los Angeles film premier, a BMW bike and MUCH MORE! Don’t miss out!

How Can YOU Get Involved in NRW? Join us in one of our sailing events! Registration can be found online. NRW social events are also open to the public - we’d love to have you! Volunteers are needed across the entire ten days - We can use your help to sell merchandise, check in people at social events or sell drink or raffle tickets! NCS Programming - Through August 26th! Not only is our Jetties Sailing Center still open (through August 31st), but NCS is running youth and adult programming through Friday, August 26th! Programs the week of August 15th include: Guppies, Mariners, Youth Private Lessons, Teen Green, Water Sports and Windsurfing. Programs the week of August 22nd include: Guppies, Mariners, Water Sports, Windsurfing, Keelboat Green, Keelboat Blue, Keelboat Private Lessons, Women’s Clinic, IOD Racing and Rhodes Racing.
