Nantou, the home of mountains

and water, is the best natural touring area

in Taiwan. With qual i ty produce,

delicate industrial cultures, unique

aboriginal cultures, and changes of

seasons, it is full of surprises in Nantou –

cherry flowers in spring, going away for

the summer, red maple leaves in fall, and

The County Government organizes

brand-new touring routes to meet the

demands of visitors for in-depth tours.

One-day, two-day, and three-day trips

are organized for the beauty of Nantou

in four seasons. With abundant and

diverse activities, visitors could easily

follow the itineraries and randomly

arrange the trips.

With the excellent natural environment, there are

distinct views in Nantou in different seasons. In spring,

cherry flowers in Renai Village, Tsaopingtou, and

Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village appeal a lot of

visitors; peony and tulips in SunLinkSea are unique;

and and for tea tasting during the day and firefly-

watching at night in Chushan and Luku. Hehuanshan,

Chingjing, Xitou, and SunLinkSea are the best touring

spots for summer. Visitors can relaxingly hike in the

mountains and enjoy the forest bath.

Nantou is also the home of red maple leaves.

Flowers, hot springs, and delicious local food are the

joy in fall. In winter, the diverse views in Nantou would

never bore visitors, such as snow in Hehuanshan, plum

flowers in Hsinyi Village, strawberries picking in

Kuohsing Village, and hot springs.

Traveling in Nantou is easy and relaxing. It is

Visit the flower city, Puli Township, for

flower-watching and wine-tasting. Start from

Tsaotun, rose farms are along the road.

Gypsophila, carnations, and orchids in Taiyi

Farm are worth visiting. Both Shaoxing wine

and Ailang wine in Puli Brewery are famous

internationally. Besides, the wine museum in

Nantou Flower Carnival is annually held

hermaphroditism butterflies and various rare

insect specimens are exhibited in the Museum

SunLinkSea. With the excellently natural conditions and 20-

year experiences in cultivation, peony in SunLinkSea is grand

Hehuanshan is not simply the famous

scenic spot for skiing and snow, but a mountain

garden for distinct flowers in four seasons.

Waiting for sun-rise, the tremendous cloud sea

is beneath visitors. Driving on Provincial

Highway No. 14 Chia, clusters of lilies waving at

visitors on the sides of the road. The wild white

lilies with purple lines bloom from spring to July,

because of different altitudes.

Azalea in Yushan blooms in spring and

summer. Just turn on a trail from the road, you

will find the flower sea on hills.

Kuanghsin Tsun, Fenghuang Tsun, and Yunglong Tsun in

Luku Village appear the largest number of fireflies. Follow the

trail to Chilin Lake, they fly around visitors for a romantic

evening. There are fireflies in Taiwan University Tea Farm as

well. Without light pollution and pesticide damage along Xia

Highway and various streams and forests, fireflies would

always accompany visitors in dark.

The tour is best for tea-tasting during the day and firefly-

watching in the evening.

Visitor Center and the car park. The red cherry flowers and the

maple trees color the area a beautiful picture. Further visit

magpie.

In winter:

Aowanda is covered with red maple leaves. The red carpet

is extremely romantic.

Evergreen Grasslands in Chingjing Farm is the best place

for grass-ski ing or group act iv i t ies. Szuyuanshih can

pears, apples, and the high-mountain tea in Wushe are the

local specialities. Driving along Hehuanshan highway in fall,

the cloud sea and the stars are tremendous.

This trip is based on the natural scenery in Renai Village

and the aboriginal culture of Atayal and Sediq. On the next day,

leisurely viewing maple leaves and waterfalls, breathing fresh

Hot springs along Nankang and Peikang streams are the

new developed area, which are on the way to Huisun Forest

and next to Atayal Resort. Hot springs here are sodium

bicarbonate springs with PH value 8.4, close to neutral. The

water is clear and is drinkable. Specific cool springs are also

developed in recent years and become the scenic routes. The

facilities in hot spring area are complete; the swimming pool,

Japanese-style hot springs, spa, and herb bath could meet the

diverse requirements of visitors. Nearby touring spots include

Huisun Forest, Chioufenerhshan, and Yumenkuan Waterfall.

＊Highlights:

Tongpu is a Bunun tribe famous of hot springs and

mountain scenery. The hot springs here are alkaline carbonate

with PH 7.7 and the temperature is about 53°C. The clear

water naturally comes out from rock-slit that it is good for

beauty. Besdies, there are abundant services, such as water

therapy, SPA, skin treatment, sauna, and aerobic spa. Nearby

touring spots like Batongguan Historic Trail, Father & Son Cliff,

and Yunlong Waterfall are wonderful. Hot spring meals, Bunun

meals, and large trout raised in Shaslihsien Stream are

extremely delicious.

In winter, the mountains are covered with white snow.

When it is clear, visitors can overlook the snow on Yushan.

Fenghueitou and the nearby parks are surrounded with plum

flowers that it is the best enjoyment to watch plum flowers,

taste plum wine, and relax in hot springs.
