DESCRIPTION•Kate Moss is lying naked on a white horse outside. •She is straddling the horse and petting the it with her right hand.•She is looking straight at the camera.

Page 11: Nan Goldin

ANALYSIS•The white color of the horse really stands out because of the back background.•You can really see the texture of the horse’s hair and her skin. You can tell they are both very soft. •Proportion is also used because the horse is so much bigger than Kate.

INTERPRETNan Goldin put a lot into this photo, I believe she was really trying to show the difference between a human being and a “beast”.I also see the what she is trying to portray by showing a human at their natural state by being nude which is unordinary and the horse at it’s natural which is normal.

JUDGEMENTI really like this photo, it is very unusual and you don’t see photos like this everyday. This is, overall, my favorite photo by Nan Goldin mainly because a lot of work was put into it as you can tell because the fact that she put Kate Moss, a well-known model, in the photograph. There is a lot of intensity and this picture gives off an almost a fantasy like feel.
