    Attached is the Naming Opportunity Request Form to be forwarded to the UBC NamingCommittee and BC Provincial Government (Intellectual Property Program) for approval.

    Summary of donor, donation and naming request:We are requesting approval for the naming of Money & Raymond M.C. Lee Square inrecognition of a $5,250,000 leadership donation to the start an evolution campaign fromUBC alumnus, Mr. Raymond Lee, and his wife, Mrs. Money Lee.

    $5 million of this undesignated gift will be used to support the construction of the AlumniCentre and $250,000 will be allocated to enhance the square. Given the honorary namingof the Alumni Centre having been dedicated to Robert H. Lee and the absence of arecognition opportunity at the $5 million level within the centre, we have identified thesquare as a suitable opportunity to recognize Mr. and Mrs. Lees generosity.

    Mr. Raymond Lee received a Bachelor of Applied Science (Hons) in ElectricalEngineering from UBC in 1993. He established Lee & Man Paper Manufacturing in 1994at the age of 23 with an initial investment from his father. Under Mr. Lees leadership, asCEO, and more recently as Chairman, the company has become one of the top threecontainerboard producers in the world, with production capacities of over 7 milliontonnes. The company has production facilities in Chinas Guangdong, Jiangsu,Chongqing, Jiangxi, and Liaoning provinces and has overseas offices in the United

    States, the UK, and Europe. Mr. Lee has invested heavily in finding ways to protect theenvironment and Lee & Man Paper Manufacturing is now recognized as one of the mostenvironmentally friendly paper manufacturers in the world.

    Mr. Lees success in business has led him to become one of Hong Kongs leadingphilanthropists. At 43 years of age, he has donated in excess of HKD 110 million (equalto $14,782,900 CAD) to multiple schools and charitable organizations in Hong Kong andChina. In addition to his financial support he contributes his time and skills to boost thenon-profit sector and further the work of government committees.

    A tribute marker (Class 4) about the donor will be placed at a prominent location withinthe square as per the request of the UBC Board of Governors.

    This space was pre-approved as a naming opportunity by the UBC Naming Committee inOctober 2013
