Course Description This course discusses the socio-cultural, economic, legal and environmental dimensions of heritage preservation, conservation and safeguarding in relation to culture and arts education.

Case Analysis of a Local Heritage Icon
Analysis paper of a chosen heritage item on the issues, problems and preservation/safeguarding measures taken by community and the local and/or national government
Analyze how heritage can be utilized in one’s community (CO5)
Mounting of a Final Project Cultural Mapping outputs will be converted to a more popular medium such as exhibit, performance, etc. that will be available to the community
Develop plans on how heritage can be used in the educational setting (CO6)
Submission of a Lesson Plan using a heritage item
Create a detailed lesson plan for MAPEH and another subject using mapped heritage items
Value the importance of heritage to nation-building (CO7)
