A traditional dinner includes turkey, ham and plum pudding for dessert. Some Australians celebrate this dinner outdoors, like in Bondi Beach in Sydney. Since 1937 in Melbourne "the carols by candlelight" are held on Christmas eve. This night people gather to sing carols to the only light of candles.

On the 26th it is “boring day”. Traditionally on this day presents and food are distributed to the disadvantaged people.
