On August 5th, 2015, in the historical Mission Memorial Auditorium next to Honolulu Hale, our very own Lina Weinstock from our Kona Office was sworn in as a U.S. Citizen! I was fortunate enough to be able to attend and witness this “chicken skin” moment! We sometimes take our U. S. citizenship for granted, when we should be so proud to call ourselves Americans! The speaker was a Captain in the Navy who also received his citizenship and his speech was about obtaining his citizenship but maintaining his Peruvian nationality and culture at the same time. He shared all the opportunities that opened up for him by being an American citizen and how we should be everything possible to help this great country of ours. He even recited one of my favorite speech excerpts by the late President John F. Kennedy: “Ask not what your country can do for you……….Ask what you can do for your country!” I was so proud of Lina, as was her family! Congratulations, Lina Weinstock of the United States of America!
Note from Lina Weinstock: I would like to dedicate this very Special Occasion to the Love of my Life Robert Brian Weinstock. He passed away on August 3rd by a drunk driver, two days before I was sworn in as a US Citizen. He wasn’t with me that day to stand by my side but, he was with me in spirit. I will forever miss him!!! Mahalo Sharon Hodson and my Ohana who came to support me…Love you All~

Mind, Body, Spir i t—Enjoy the Journey! By Chenise Blalock
Wellness can come in many forms.. ~Physical ~Mental ~Financial ~Spiritual
And how to obtain a balance of them all, at times can be daunting & elusive. But I believe the key is to never give up the pursuit. As long as we are striving toward a life of wellness we are on the right track.
The great thing about wellness is that it can be sought in many different ways. Yes, we know that staying active stimulates the growth of your mind, body & spirit but how we remain active is up to us. Whether you do it in a gym, yoga class, hiking, biking, playing chess, planning for retirement, eating more fruits & vegetables, meditating, or a combina-tion of the above, the important point is to consciously move forward to a better you. When my daughter was young we often packed the car & headed toward our destination for the day. She was so excited about where we were headed that she would often ask, "Are we there yet"? I would reply, "No, but we're on our way". As you can imagine this cycle repeated itself several more times. In fact, she occasionally would fall asleep before we arrived at the destination missing all the sights in
between. The truth is, as long as we stay on the course of wellness, by daily pursuing a healthier lifestyle even in small steps, we will eventually arrive at our destination..
But don't miss out on the journey. Sometimes remembering how you got there can be as fulfilling as where you arrived.
