Prerequisites:• Billeted to stand JOOD on LCS

Written Exams:• Must pass all exams to successfully complete course

– Exception: pre test– Passing grade is 80%– One retake allowed for any failed exam– Material covered in the tests is cumulative, i.e. no “data dumping” allowed – Tests are approx 50% rules of the road questions

Practical Assessments:• Must pass all to successfully complete the course

– Practicals involve a variety of practical shiphandling / navigation evolutions– Passing grade is 80%– One retake allowed for any failed practical

• Total of three retakes allowed for the entire curriculum• First failure: Remediate locally• Second failure: Academic Review Board• Fourth failure: Student fails course
