OBJECTIVE Evaluate the applicability of the LCA technique in the measurement of the eco-efficiency of public lighting projects.

ANALYZE OF ECO-EFFICIENCY

CONCLUSIONS • Public lighting project can be analyzed comparatively by the concept of

ecoefficiency; • Use of a single indicator for economic performance (such as NPV) and A

single indicator for environmental performance (such as equivalent CO2 emissions), was effective as a measure of the eco-efficiency;

• Eco-efficiency in the management of public services does not necessarily present only economic advantages, but can carry out the responsibility of the manager towards the citizen;

• The work can be improved with a refinement of the technique, mainly with respect to the valuation of the environmental aspects in the part of the economic evaluation and definition of the cash flow.
