Executive Committee MeetingthThe 28 Executive Committee Meeting was held on

November 18, 2019, at FFHO. The President FUI, Lt. Gen Syed Tariq Nadeem Gilani HI (M) (Retd) chaired the meeting. Registrar FUI presented an executive summary of the

progress made by the university over the last year and appraised the meeting of the implementation of the

thdecisions of the 27 Executive Committee Meeting. The Committee appreciated the progress made in the implementation of its directives and after due deliberation and minor modifications, approved the recommendations.

Board of Governors MeetingthThe 27 meeting of the Board of Governors of FUI was held

on November 25, 2019, at FUI head office. The meeting was chaired by Lt Gen Ikram ul Haq, HI (M), (Retd) Chancellor, FUI. Lt. Gen Syed Tariq Nadeem Gilani HI (M) (Retd) President, FUI and Maj Gen Changez Dil Khan HI (M) (Retd) Rector, FUI were also present at the meeting. The recommendations of the Executive Committee were placed before the board for consideration and were formally approved after due deliberation.

Board of Advanced Studies and ResearchthThe 24 meeting of the Board of Advanced Studies &

stResearch was held on 31 December 2019 under the chairmanship of Rector FUI, Maj Gen Changez Dil Khan HI (M) (Retd). The Chairman asked for the observations on the

rdcontents of the proceedings of 23 BASAR. Since there were no observations, the proceedings of the meeting were confirmed. Progress reports of two PhD, Scholars were

rdpresented. The proposed recommendations of 23 BASAR were incorporated by the scholars and the same was presented before the Graduate Study Committee (GSC) which was satisfied with the performance. After due deliberation, BASAR approved the recommendations of the GSC.

MOU with National University of Sciences and Technology

An MOU was signed between FUI and NUST by the Rectors of both the universities on October 28, 2019. The MOU will benefit the students and faculty of both the universities in the areas of academics, research projects, seminars and training workshops, exchange of experts and will also contribute towards the enhancement of knowledge and expertise of faculty. Maj Gen Changez Dil Khan HI(M) (Retd),

Rector FUI and Lt Gen Naweed Zaman HI(M) (Retd) Rector NUST signed the MoU.

MOU with Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF)

FUI signed an MoU with ANF on November 26, 2019, at FURC. This collaboration aims at contributing to the creation of a drug-free society through conducting intensive awareness programs for students regarding drug abuse with the help of ANF and providing internship to FUI students at Anti Narcotics Force. Brig Syed Mubasher Hassan Force Commander ANF and Brig Dr Tanvir Akhtar (Retd) HOD Department of Psychology signed the MoU.

Islamabad�CampusThe Convocation 2019 of FUMC was held at the University's auditorium on September 28, 2019. Lt Gen Syed Tariq Nadeem Gilani, HI (M) (Retd), the Managing Director Fauji Foundation and President FUI was the chief guest. Rector FUI, Maj Gen Changez Dil Khan HI (M) (Retd) and Director FUIC, Maj Gen Jawad Khaliq Ansari, HI (M), (Retd) were present at the occasion. A total of 147 graduates were awarded degrees. The chief guest awarded 6 gold medals, 5 silver medals, and 10 merit and distinction certificates. Dr. Shehar Bano was declared the all-round best graduate for the session 2014-18. In his welcome address, the Director Islamabad Campus highlighted the progress and academic excellence achieved over the past year. The chief guest, in his address, congratulated FUI on establishing itself as a major seat of learning within a short span of time.

Rawalpindi�CampusFURC organized its Convocation 2019 at Jinnah Convention Centre, Islamabad on October 19, 2019. The Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, General Zubair Mahmood Hayat NI (M) graced the ceremony as chief guest. 17 students were awarded gold medals and an equal number were given silver medals. 53 students were given distinction certificates and 80 were given merit certificates. In his welcome address, Rector FUI, Maj Gen Changez Dil Khan HI (M) (Retd) reiterated the university's resolve to strive for the promotion of quality education that is in sync with the job market and abreast of the latest technological, and pedagogical developments. The chief guest shared his wisdom, garnered over his illustrious career in the army, to point out the importance of good values, ethics, and social responsi-bility.

SEMINARS AND LECTURESContext-Based Positive and Negative Spatio -Temporal Association Rule Mining

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Shaheen, Dean Engineering and IT delivered a talk on Context-Based Positive and Negative Spatio-Temporal Association Rule Mining as a keynote speaker at International Symposium on Recent Advances in Electrical Engineering 2019 held at PIEAS on August 29, 2019. Engr. Pervaiz Butt, Former Chairman, Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission was the chief guest of the symposium.

The New Era of Virtual Reality Rehabilitation and Tele-rehabilitation

Muhammad Ehab Azim Senior lecturer FUIRS delivered a keynote speech titled “The New Era of Virtual Reality

stRehabilitation and Tele-Rehabilitation” on 1 National Student Congress on physiotherapy and rehabilitation held on September 15, 2019.

Supply Chain Management

A seminar on Supply Chain Management was conducted on September 26, 2019, at FURC by Dr. Muhammad Shafiq and

Mr. Imran Maqsood Malik. The purpose of the seminar was to educate the audience about the benefits that can be accrued by organizations by applying supply chain management methodologies and processes.

Important Measures in the Journey of Start-up

FUBIC invited Mr. Abdul Moeed, Manager University-Industry Linkages, FUI on September 27, 2019 on a talk. The session was very enlightening and emphasized all the key performance indicators of a start-up. Incubatees of FUBIC were also provided an insight into an effective business plan as per industry benchmarks in the start-up ecosystem.

Work Ethics

ORIC invited Mr. Kamran Rizvi, the founding Director of the School of Leadership and Carnelian, to deliver a lecture on work ethics on October 01, 2019. Mr. Kamran enlightened the FUI fraternity about work ethics involved in professional as well as personal lives.

How Entrepreneurship and Innovation can solve Socio-Economic Challenges of Pakistan

On special invitation from ORIC, Mr. Zouhair Khaliq (Member of the Prime Minister's Task Force on IT & Telecom

and Co-Founder & Partner at Teamup) delivered an informative lecture to students, faculty and incubatees of FUI on October 02, 2019. The theme of this talk was How Entrepreneurship and Innovation can solve Socio-Economic Challenges of Pakistan.

Ethics

A talk on ethics was delivered by Senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan, Chairman Senate Standing Committee for Science & Technology at FURC on October 02, 2019. The speaker discussed and correlated revolutions of France, Russia and the changes introduced by the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

Haemophilia and Inherited Bleeding Disorder Management and Latest Developments in Care

A Symposium Haemophilia and Inherited Bleeding Disorder Management and Latest Developments in Care were held at FUMC on October 02, 2019. It was accredited for 06 contact hours by PMDC. The guest speakers were Maj Gen Pervaiz Ahmed (Retd), Dr. Tahira Zafar, Maj Gen Suhaib Ahmed (Retd), Dr.Samina Amanat, Dr. Munir Akmal Lodhi, and Dr. Lubna Zafar.

Cloud Computing

On October 11, 2019, Department of Software Engineering organized a seminar on cloud computing to highlight the importance of cloud computing and its role in the IT

industry. On the occasion, Dr. Aaqif Afzaal Abbasi presented the state-of-the-art developments in the cloud industry to the audience.

Youth Character Building and Awareness Against Corruption

A seminar, Youth Character Building and Awareness Against Corruption was organized by Character Building Society,

FURC on October 17, 2019. Ms. Nazia Parveen Sodhan, Director of Development and Finance was the guest speaker. The purpose of this event was to give awareness about corruption, its causes and the factors that break the cycle.

Breast Cancer Awareness- FUSC

FUSC arranged breast cancer awareness seminar on October 17, 2019. Dr. Prof Sabir Hussain, Principal Sialkot Medical College was the guest speaker. He discussed the causes of breast cancer, explained how to self-examine and take measures to diagnose it. Informative cards were also distributed among the audience.

Fiction, Discourse and Cultural Spatiality

The Department of English at FURC held a seminar titled Fiction, Discourse and Cultural Spatiality on October 21, 2019. The resource person of the seminar was Mr. Farrukh

Nadeem, lecturer in the Department of English at IIUI. The lecture was in alignment with the taught courses of BS and MS English Literature.

Today is the First Day of the Rest of your Life

The Department of English held a seminar titled Today is the First Day of the Rest of Your Life on November 21, 2019. The lecture was a motivational talk with an aim to enable

students to succeed at personal and professional fronts. The guest speaker, Mr. Ibraheem Ahmad addressed major issues that concern an individual's life as a university student. The guest speaker also arranged a Scavenger Hunt for the students to learn the importance of working in teams.

Advances in Syntax

A seminar titled Advances in Syntax was arranged by the Department of English on December 17, 2019. The lecture was in alignment with the taught courses of BS and MS

English Linguistics Prof. Dr. Nazir Malik, the guest speaker, briefed the students about various aspects of Linguistics. Dr. Malik discussed syntactic rules, sequence of word classes and lexical functional grammar.

Management in Dynamic Environment

On October 23, 2019, FUSC arranged a seminar Management in Dynamic Environment. The guest speaker was Mr. Haris Atiq, a renowned industrialist and famous entrepreneur from Sialkot.

Common Infections in Pakistan

A symposium on common infections in Pakistan was held at FUMC on October 24, 2019, as part of CPD/CME activity. The

symposium was graced by f ive dist inguished microbiologists; Brig (Retd) Javaid Usman Rao, Professor of Microbiology, NUMS, Brig. Irfan Ali Mirza HOD Microbiology, AFIP, Lt. Col. Umar Khurshid, AFIP and Dr. Mehreen Gilani Asst. Professor NUMS.

Media Ethics

Department of Arts and Media arranged a seminar on Media Ethics on October 24, 2019, at FURC. Ms. Seemab Abbasi was invited as the guest speaker. She has been

associated with Pakistan Television News, Islamabad since 2008. Ms. Seemab enlightened the students with the significance of Media Ethics and briefed about the lack of basic ethics in private media.

Budget Deficit and Domestic Public Debt

FURC Economic Society organized a seminar Budget Deficit andDomestic Public Debt, on October 25, 2019. Prof. Dr. Atiq-ur-Rehman a well-known econometrician and an Associate Professor at the Department of Economics, AJK University was the keynote speaker. The purpose of the

event was to introduce the young audience to the true meaning of debt and budget deficit.

Presentation Skills

FUSC arranged a seminar on presentation skills on October 28, 2019. Dr. Nadeem Ahmed Awan, Assistant Professor from the Faculty of Management Sciences was the resource person.

Health and Nutrition Seminar

A Seminar on Health and Nutrition was organized at FUSC by Management Sciences Department on October 30, 2019. The resource person of the seminar was Khudaija Tahir Awan, a Consultant Dietician and Nutritionist.

Challenges of Climate Change and Disasters Faced by Pakistan

On November 04, 2019, Maj Gen Asghar Nawaz, HI(M) (Retd), CEO / MD Foundation Power Company Daharki Ltd educated the students and faculty of FUI about the challenges of climate change and disasters faced by

Pakistan. He stressed the need for public awareness regarding preparedness for natural disasters, inclusion climate change in syllabi of all academic disciplines and the role of youth for advocacy on these important issues.

Ethics and Tolerance

A talk on ethics and tolerance was delivered by Brigadier Muhammad Shams ur Rahman (Retd) faculty member NUST at FURC on November 06, 2019. In his talk, the speaker

highlighted the effects of ethics both on individuals and society. He illustrated his talk in the light of the Quran and sunnah.

News Writing Skills Development

A seminar on News Writing Skills Development was held on November 21, 2019, at FURC. Mr. Wani, an economic

reporter and in-charge of Economics News Desk at Associated Press of Pakistan (APP), briefed the students of the Arts and Media Department about news writing basics.

Ethics and Tolerance

A talk on Ethics and Tolerance was delivered by Brig Fazli Rabbi (Retd) C A A, at FURC on December 04, 2019. In his

talk, the speaker discussed the six ills in the light of Surah al Hujarat and the Hadith of the Holy Prophet (SAW).

nd2 Session of Talks@PTCL

FUI students, faculty and ORIC representative, attended the nd2 session of 'Talks@PTCL' organized by Pakistan

Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL), where industry professionals motivated the participants with their inspirational talks on topics related to technology, digital ecosystem and development of in-house talent. The event was held at PTCL headquarter in Islamabad on December 18, 2019.

TRAINING AND WORKSHOPSJournal Selection and Manuscript Writing

Dr. Muhammad Osama, (Lecturer FUIRS) conducted a workshop Journal Selection and Manuscript Writing, at

Popcorn Studio Islamabad, organized by Brainstorm Research on July 28, 2019.

National Workshop on Incubator Management

National Workshop on Incubator Management was held on August 01 and 02, 2019 at NUML. Syed Taimoor Hassan,

Manager FUBIC participated in the panel discussion and shared his thoughts and success story with the panelists.

Pattern Recognition Applications (IWPRA 2019)

One-day international workshop on Pattern Recognition Applications was held at FURC on August 22, 2019. Prof. Dr. Cheng-Chin Li, Vice President of Institute of Automation at the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Prof. Dr. Seichi Uchiida from Kyushu University Japan delivered comprehensive talks.

Conducting and Supervising Research

ORIC FUI organized a 4-Day Training Workshop Conducting and Supervising Research from August 27-30, 2019 at FURC.

Both internal and external experts conducted various sessions for Faculty and PhD Scholars. The topics covered were: Research Proposal Writing, Understanding of ISI Web of Science, New Trends in Research Methodology and Effective Supervision of PhD Research.

STATA- A Research Analysis Tool

Finance and Economics Department, FURC arranged a two-day training workshop on STATA on September 03 and 04, 2019. Dr. Tanveer Ahmed from Kohat University of Science

and Technology was the resource person. The training was based on providing an introductory as well as an advanced application of the STATA package to enhance research ability.

Cast Partial Denture: Simplified

Prosthodontics department, FUCD conducted a two-day workshop titled Cast Partial Denture Simplified on September 17-18, 2019. Day 1 comprised of lectures on diagnosis, case selection and treatment/planning of cast partial denture by the guest speakers. Day 2 of the workshop had hands-on designing cast partial denture on templates and surveying.

NVIVO

The Department of Psychology, FURC organized a one-day training workshop on NVIVO, qualitative analysis software on October 03, 2019. The seminar was organized for the faculty and students who are engaged in qualitative

research. Dr. Jamil A. Malik, who has extensive experience and specialization in research and data analysis, was the resource person.

Pyrography

Arts and Media Department organized a Pyrography thworkshop on October 03, 2019, for the students of BCA 6

semester under the supervision of Mr. Arshad Ali. Pyrography is the art or technique of decorating wood or leather by burning a design on the surface with a heated metallic point.

Diagnostic Histopathology

A workshop on Diagnostic Histopathology was organized at FUMC from October 4-5, 2019. It was accredited for 12 contact hours by PMDC. The workshop was graced by Brig Sajid Mushtaq, HOD of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer

Hospital and Research Centre and Dr. Usman Hassan, a consultant histopathologist at SKMCH.

Teaching IT Skills to Non-IT Professionals

The FURC Community Service Club conducted a session Teaching IT Skills to Non-IT Professionals on October 10, 2019. Mr. Aqib Rehman and Mr. Waqas Ahmed, Lecturers SE

Dept were the resource persons. The main objective of the session was to impart IT skills and knowledge to non-IT Professionals and to emphasize the importance of IT in modern education.

How to Pitch Your Idea in a Transitional Economy and Hard Times

FUBIC hosted Mr. Imran Bashir Dar on October 11, 2019, for a training session How to Pitch Your Idea in a Transitional Economy and Hard Times. Mr. Imran highlighted the key

performance indicators of pitching and coached the incubatees in different selling techniques used in the businesses.

Understanding Orthodontics – Problem List to Treatment Plan

The Orthodontic Department at FUCD held a workshop, Understanding Orthodontics – Problem List to Treatment Plan on October 15, 2019. The event turned out to be a very

well-organized and well-conducted affair with a diverse audience ranging from senior consultants to residents.

Branding Strategies in Design

A workshop Branding Strategies in Design was held on October 29, 2019. Mr. Uzair Mehboob was the guest speaker who is currently working as Sr. Visualizer at IAL Saatchi & Saatchi. At present, the company's major client is Jazz and Mr. Uzair has designed their 25 years celebration campaign which he showed and discussed with the students.

Outcome-Based Education in Electrical Engineering Department

Professor Dr. Saeed ur Rehman conducted a fruitful training session Outcome-based Education in Electrical Engineering Department on December 12, 2019. He also visited various labs and appreciated the work and gave useful suggestions for further improvement.

CONFERENCESnd2 Young Scientists Research Conference

nd2 Young Scientists Research Conference was held at FUIC on July 19, 2019. A total of 45 posters and 40 oral presentations were accepted for this conference. Medical, Dental, Rehabilitation and Clinical Psychology students of both undergraduate and postgraduate level from various

institutions of twin cities presented their research work. Pro-Vice-Chancellor NUMS Professor Mohammad Aslam and Director FUIC, Maj Gen Prof Dr. Jawad Khaliq Ansari HI (M) (Retd) graced the event.

Media as a Soft Power in the 21st Century

Ms. Ummul Baneen Assistant Professor in Arts & Media Department presented a research paper at first two-day

stnational conference Media as a Soft Power in the 21 Century at NUML from October 10-11, 2019. The topic of the research article was Short Film: as Social Message. She produced two short films to conduct the research.

nd2 International Conference on Social Sciences and Humanities

Ms. Hina Shahid Assistant Professor of Arts & Media presented her paper at the

nd2 International Conference on Social Sciences and Humanities organised by Kinnaird College for Women U n i v e r s i t y L a h o r e o n October 25, 2019. Her paper was about the role of Russia in Afghan peace process and its Implications on Pak-Afghan relations.

rd3 Annual Conference on CPEC Consortium

Arts and Media Department, FURC organized an Art rdExhibition during the 3 Annual Conference on CPEC

Consortium of Universities at Convention Center Islamabad from November 17-18, 2019. Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Reforms, along with Vice President of China`s HEC visited the exhibition and appreciated the students' efforts.

Consultation on Progress towards Hepatitis Elimination in the Eastern Mediterranean Region

Dr. Yasir Waheed from FUMC was invited to pannel discussion on Consultation on Progress towards Hepatitis Elimination in Eastern Mediterranean Region by the World Health Organization EMRO office at Avari Hotel Lahore, from December 03-05, 2019. The event was attended by 30 participants from 11 countries including WHO Geneva and EMRO Offices.

Executive Director HEC Lt. Gen (Retd) Muhammad Asghar visited FURC where he was briefed on TV Studio facility, FM 101.8 Radio station, and Business Incubation Center. Pro-Rector FUI Brig Dr. Abdul Ghafoor (Retd) & HOD Art & Media Dept Dr. Fazal Rahim accompanied the guest.

Students of Arts and Media department under the supervision of Mr. Tahir Abbas (In-charge Foundation FM)

visited FM 101) upon the invitation of program host RJ Mr. Muneeb Ajmal on August 12, 2019, and participated in a live show celebrating Pakistan's Independence Day.

Hasselt University, Belgium

As an extension of the MOU signed between FUI and Hasselt University Belgium, a summer school was organized for DPT students from September 05-13, 2019. 10 students accompanied by 2 faculty members attended the summer school. At Hasselt University an introduction to the

educational program in Rehabilitation Sciences and Physiotherapy was given following which there was a short practical learning module on Scientific Research Methodologies. Dean Prof. Dr. Peter Feys and Dr. Elke Heremans welcomed the students and gave an introduction to the faculty and the research activities of the Rehabilitation Research Centre. The delegation visited the REGO Rehabilitation unit of Jessa Hospital, Hasselt and TRAINM center, Antwerp. The visit comprised lectures, workshops, and visits to the research clusters of Paediatric rehabilitation, Biomechanics and mental healthcare.

President FUI / MD Fauji Foundation

The MD Fauji Foundation, Lt Gen Syed Tariq Nadeem Gilani, HI (M) (Retd), visited FURC, on September 11, 2019, to formally inaugurate into operation the campus radio, FM 101.8. The MD also inaugurated the newly built cafeteria at the campus. He then visited FUBIC and was briefed on its

activities by Manager FUBIC. He also planted a tree at FURC and had a brief visit to the newly relocated Psychology clinic.

Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce

A delegation from the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce & Industry visited FURC to meet the start-ups. They shared their insight into the RCCI regulations and how they are actively engaging with start-ups and SMEs to make the

overall process more productive. Manager FUBIC Syed Taimoor Hassan briefed them about the FUBIC ecosystem and discussed various avenues of collaboration with RCC.

University of Bedfordshire, UK

On September 16, 2019, 12 participants from FURC attended the Annual Cultural and Academic Exchange

Programme at the University of Bedfordshire along with Dr. Raja Nasim Akhtar and Ms. Durrani from the Department of English. The delegation was hosted by Mr. Nikolae Pavel, International Marketing Manager of UoB and Richard O'

Halloran. The five-day program consisted of talks, discussions, training, English language test, taster lectures, and formal lunch with UoB dignitaries and trips to Cambridge University and London. Students were exposed to practical and skill-based topics/sessions on UK Culture, UK university life and new work policies, 3+1 programs, CV writing and interview techniques for jobs in the UK.

PMA Kakul

As per invitation from PMA for Commandant's parade - full dress rehearsal, 14 students accompanied by a faculty

member from FUIRS attended the event on October 10, 2019.

Mabali Island

Graduating students of BS Media & Communication were taken to Mabali Island near Khanpur for day trip on November 2019. This activity was planned as a farewell trip so students could relax for a day with their friends and

faculty members and say goodbye to a wonderful 4 years of university life.

AKSA-Solution Development Services

Students of Software Engineering and Business Administration visited AKSA-Solutions Development Services (SDS) on November 21, 2019. AKSA-SDS is a leading technology company that provides reliable and trusted next-generation hardware and software solutions

using the latest innovative technologies. During this industry trip, the management of AKSA-SDS briefed the student delegates about the life-cycle of their services.

National Institute of Electronics

As a part of academic/co-curricular activities, students of the Electrical Engineering Department visited the National Institute of Electronics, Islamabad on November 26, 2019.

Mr. Muhammad Kamran Bhatti Director Technical Services and Coordination, NIE received the FURC delegation and showed the students different state of the art Labs of NIE.

Nayatel Headquarters

One day educational visit to Nayatel Headquarters was arranged for the students of EE, SE and MBA Department on November 27, 2019, by FUI Manager UIL Mr. Abdul Moeed.

Senior Manager Transmission of Nayatel Mr. Syed Waqar Hassan briefed the students and the faculty about Nayatel and the services they provide to their customers.

NUST Biomedical Labs

Dr. Ateeq-ur-Rehman (Assistant Professor Bio-Medical Engineering Technology Program) along with his

colleagues Mr. Saad Habib and Mr. Adnan Khan visited NUST Biomedical Engineering Labs on December 04, 2019. The team was welcomed by Dr. Umar Gillani and Dr. Asim Waris.

Chairman HEC

Dr. Tariq Banuri, Chairman, Higher Education Commission visited FURC on December 31, 2019. During interview for the Chairman Online program at the Foundation University studio, he said that effective teaching requires great communication skills and updated knowledge of diverse subjects; the teachers must involve students into creative activities for effective implantation of knowledge. He said the central role of a teacher is to teach students how to think. He visited the FM Radio and FUBIC and appreciated the efforts of the media team, faculty and students. Brig. Dr. Abdul Ghafoor Pro Rector / Director, FURC presented university plaque to the chairman HEC.

International Nurses Day was celebrated at FUCN on June 21, 2019, based on the theme; Nurses – A Voice to Lead – Health for All. Guest speaker Mr. Umar Farooq, Manager Quality assurance, Shifa International Hospital emphasized the role and responsibility of nurses towards their patients. Mrs. Ruth Samuel, Manager of Prevention & Infection

Control, Shifa International Hospital shared her ideas and emphasized the importance of hand washing. She also demonstrated hand washing techniques to FUCN students.

Internal Assessment

Department of Quality Assurance at FUI conducted a Self Review of MS and Ph.D. Programs on June 28, 2019. The review panel consisted of five external subject experts from well-reputed Universities. The Panel reviewed the available data/ documents, interacted with MS and PhD faculty and scholars and visited the Research and Academic facilities at the campus. In the end, they communicated their

recommendations to Pro-Rector/Director FURC, Brig Dr. Abdul Ghafoor, SI (M) (Retd) for further improvement.

st Pitching Event for 1 Cohort InductionstFUBIC organized the pitching event for its 1 Cohort

induction on July 05 2019 at FUBIC. The jury included FUBIC Selection Committee and experts from diverse fields. After due deliberations and thorough discussions on every business idea presented to the jury, the business proposals having research potential, innovation growth and market sustainability were selected.

Cultural Health Festival

FUCN celebrated Cultural Health Festival on July 11, 2019. The purpose of the event was to portray versatility and cultural harmony among different provinces of Pakistan. The students of Post RN BSN organized various stalls to represent different cultures. To depict a real picture of each

culture, they presented role plays to highlight prevailing myths, values, beliefs and health practices.

ndPakistan Nursing Council’s 2 Inspection

PNC Team paid a visit to FUCN on July 22, 2019. They inspected available facilities; classrooms, IT lab, skill lab, and library. The team reviewed the curriculum, lesson plans, assessment process, course portfolios of the teachers and students, Information Management System, academic

records and the hostel facility. The team was satisfied with the current teaching practices and available facilities. Moreover, PNC approved 50 seats for PRN and BSN programs.

Farewell to Controller Exam

FUI officers gathered to bid farewell to Col Dr. Sajjad Akbar, Controller Exam (January 2010- May 2019) on August 31, 2019, reminding him that he is leaving behind a legacy of encouragement, achievement and work ethic that will always be part of his co-workers.

FURC Orientation

FURC organized a two-day orientation session for the new students of Fall 2019 on September 04 and 05, 2019. Over 200 parents and 715 students attended the event. On day

one Pro-Rector/Director FURC, Brig Dr. Abdul Ghafoor, SI (M) (Retd) welcomed the students to the FURC family and assured them that his team would go all out to support their educational endeavors and help them realize their dreams.

Tree Plantation Drive

In line with Prime Minister's Plant for Pakistan mission, Fauji Foundation kicked off a drive on September 04, 2019. MD

Fauji Foundation, Lt Gen Syed Tariq Nadeem Gilani, HI (M) (Retd) inaugurated the tree plantation drive Go Green by planting a sapling at FUCN.

Kashmir Solidarity Day

FUIC and FURC observed the Defence Day on September 06, 2019, as the Kashmir Solidarity Day to reaffirm support of Pakistani nation for the oppressed people of Indian Occupied Kashmir.

Inauguration Ceremony Foundation University Sialkot Campus and Foundation Institute of Technology Sialkot

On September 13, 2019, FUI inaugurated two institutes in Sialkot. Federal Minister of Education and Professional Training, Mr. Shafqat Mehmood inaugurated Foundation University Sialkot Campus and Foundation Institute of Technology, Sialkot. MD Fauji Foundation, Lt. Gen Syed Tariq Nadeem Gillani (Retd), Maj. Gen Naseer Ali Khan (Retd), Rector FUI, Maj. Gen Changez Dil Khan (Retd) and Director FUSC, Prof. Dr. Mehmood A. Bodla were also present at this auspicious event. Guests from the Chamber of Commerce, Industrialists, Local SMEs and members of the business community also attended the official opening ceremony. MD Fauji Foundation appreciated the significance of Sialkot as an industrial hub of Pakistan and expressed his views about nurturing the youth of the area with academic and professional skills to enhance the economy of Pakistan. Federal Minister also shared similar views about the importance of technical education. Fauji Foundation's endless aim is to develop human resources, simultaneously contributing to the economy of Pakistan.

Mental Health Day

Mental Health Day was celebrated at the FURC on October 10, 2019. The theme of the event was Working Together to Prevent Suicide: A Day of 40 Seconds in Action. A poster competition was held and 11 posters were submitted, depicting the students' take on the theme of suicide and suicide prevention. A skit titled: Suicide is Not the Solution

was also performed. It was followed by a talk on suicide prevention by Prof. Dr. Mowadat Hussain Rana.

Launch Event of PM Youth Programme

The launch event of the Prime Minister Youth Programme was held on October 17, 2019, at Jinnah Convention Centre. FUI nominated Ms. Hina Hayat, Senior Lecturer from FURC as

a focal person along with Dr. Hafiz Ali bin Asim Lecturer from FUIRS and Ms. Ammara Sundas Senior Lecturer FUCN. A total of 44 students attended the event.

Alter G Anti-Gravity Treadmill

FUI has acquired the latest Alter G Anti-Gravity Treadmill

which is one of a kind lower body positive pressure treadmill, and it is one of the only two Alter G Anti-Gravity Treadmills in Pakistan. The machine was acquired through a grant of 5.5 Million from HEC-NRPU, secured by Primary Investigator, Dr. Aamer Naeem (Assistant Professor FUIRS), and Co-Primary Investigator Dr. Muhammad Osama (Lecturer FUIRS), for the research project titled, Effects of Anti-Gravity Treadmill Training On Knee Osteoarthritis In Geriatric Population.

Pink Ribbon Day - FUIC

Pink Ribbon Day was celebrated on October 29, 2019, at FUIC under the HEC & Pink Ribbon Youth Awareness Programme 2019. Various activities were carried out on this day to support the cause. Prof Dr. Fouzia Abdus Samad, Head of Oncology department FFH, delivered a lecture after which a motivational talk was given by two breast cancer survivors. Banners, posters, flyers were displayed/

distributed. Participants took photographs at the Pink Ribbon selfie corner. Pink Ribbon badges were worn by all. A human pink ribbon was demonstrated by FUCN students. A donation worth Rs. 35000/- was collected for the first dedicated Breast Cancer Hospital in Lahore.

Welcome Party FUSC

Welcome Party was organized for new students at FUSC on November 06, 2019. BBA, BSIET, BSSE & BSCs batch 1 students actively participated in the event making it memorable. A Mehfil-e-Milad was organized in FUSC on November 15, 2019, to express faithfulness and love for The Holy Prophet

Muhammad (P.B.U.H). Director Campus, HODs, Faculty members and students attended the event with devotion and fervor to express their unflinching love and respect towards the beloved Prophet (P.B.U.H).

Marketing CampaignthBBA 7 semester at FURC organized marketing campaign,

dated November 28, 2019. During this activity, students

learned to plan, organize, lead and develop marketing strategies. The whole activity was evaluated by the marketing experts and feedback was provided to students.

Clean and Green Pakistan

As an afforestation initiative, Clean and Green Pakistan thactivity was organized by BSMS 6 Semester under the

supervision of Ms. Ummul Baneen and Ms. Sehrish Jamil from Arts and Media Department on November 29, 2019. Brig Dr. Abdul Ghafoor, Pro-Rector/ Director FURC, Prof Dr. Fazal Rahim Khan, HoD Arts, and Media and Col Muhammad Alam, Manager Student Affairs FURC planted a tree at Sir Syed Block.

Human Rights Reel Film Festival

150 students from FURC participated in Human Rights Reel Film Festival organized by the United Nations in Pakistan from December 1-10, 2019. The students watched 10 films

on the subject of human rights and shared their reviews through multimedia stories for the social media pages of the UN HR REEL Festival.

External Assessment

The External Assessment of MS and Ph.D Computer Science Programs of FUI was carried out by Prof. Dr. Faisal Shafait, Associate Professor, NUST along with Assessment Team under arrangements of Department of Quality Assurance on December 31, 2019 at FURC. The Self-Assessment Report was prepared by Mr. Umar Mahmud, Assistant Professor, Department of Software Engineering with the help of colleagues under the guidance of QA. The Assessment Team reviewed the SARs based on 8 criterions and 31 standards

defined in QA manual of HEC, interacted with MS and Ph.D Faculty and Scholars and visited the research and academic facilities. At the end, the External Expert highlighted the strengths of the program and shared some ideas for improvement of MS and Ph.D programs.

Financial–Economic Analyst

Dr. Muhammad Awais, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Management Sciences, FURC was invited to participate in a program titled “Current Affairs Special” on PTV-News on June 28, 2019. The main theme of the program was to discuss various issues regarding the budget 2019-2020, amnesty scheme and tax policies. Mr. Awais gave his opinion on all these issues as Financial–Economic Analyst.

FURC Table Tennis Matches

Table Tennis Warm-up Matches (Single) organized by Sports Society were held on October 03, 2019, at FURC for both male and female students. 8 Students from different departments participated. The final was played between Mr. Bilal Ahmad BCSE- 3 and Mr. Ahmad Shaukat BCSE-8. Mr. Ahmad Shaukat won finishing the match in consecutive 2 sets.

HEC Trials for Selection in National Games 2019

HEC trials for the selection of players for the final of National Games 2019 were held at Islamic International University Islamabad on October 14, 2019. Ms. Tehreem Siddique BSMD-IV and Ms. Mishaal Azam BS Psychology-VII from FURC participated in the trials of Table Tennis Singles. Ms.

stMishal Azam was ranked 1 in the HEC team as the best player losing not a single match.

Prof Seyyedha presented her research work titled Comparison of Performance among Graduating Doctors

Allama Iqbal Open University, Islamabad celebrated Jashan e Youm e Pakistan on August 27, 2019. Mr. Syed Anees Raza student of BSMD semester –IV participated in Urdu Debate Competition and secured the first position among 27 universities. The topic of the debate was Quaid-e-Azam ka Pakistan Kahan Kho Gaya Hai.

Pakistan Institute of Living and Learning in collaboration with the University of Manchester and Global Brain Health Institute organized a poster competition on the issue of Dementia in South Asia (2019). Two students of Psychology Department Zara Azhar and Iqra Naseer secured third and fourth positions respectively.

Shayhaq Baloch is an independent filmmaker from Balochistan. He studied Media Sciences at FURC from 2014 till 2018. Shehak Baloch has won an award for his short film Web Warriors in November 2019. His film was nominated in the following 4 International film festivals:1. International Moving Film

Berlin Festival of Lights World Championships was based on the lights of freedom. Muhammad Nabi Pasha Department o f A r t s a n d M e d i a Sciences was the part of the Artec core team in November, 2019. He represented Pakistani traditional truck art. His work was praised and he got 2nd position among 6 competitors from Pakistan in the Berlin Festival of Lights World Championships 2019.

COMMUNITY SERVICESocial Responsibility

Final year students of the Business Administration Department under the banner of social responsibility performed various activities from February 01 to March 15, 2019. Students distributed helmets, water carriers for

women living in villages, medical emergency kits and took part in awareness sessions on road safety, academic counseling and scholarship orientation for the less privileged.

Blood Donation Camp

The Blood Donation Society of FUMC organized a blood donation camp on September 18, 2019. Maj Gen Jawad Khaliq Ansari, HI (M), (Retd) Director FUIC visited the camp and gave donors and participants certificates to acknowledge their participation. The members of the Blood Donation Society were given badges. A total of 150 donations were collected, which were given to FFH blood bank and Pakistan Thalassemia Welfare Society Rawalpindi.

Islamabad Cleft Lip and Palate Association (ICLAPA)

FURC Community Service Club participated in ICLAPA Camp 2019 on September 27, 2019. The volunteer team of students took care of patients and performed the assigned tasks very efficiently. The organizing team of ICLAPA and doctors discussed the areas in which FURC can contribute.

The volunteer team committed to develop the database system to maintain the record of patients and websites for ICLAPA.

Community Services Project for the Underprivileged Children in the Tech School

On October 26 and November 02, 2019 students of BS Psychology displayed their projects of Child Psychology Course with the mission of community service and empowerment of young impoverished children through education and training in the Tech School of the slum area of Takht Pari.
