• It is essential for you be proactive. If you notice that an employer’s name tag

bears a ribbon whose color matches your nametag, approach them, introduce yourself and offer a brief (less than one minute) introduction, giving your name, major, graduation date and area of career interest. Employers will likewise be advised to approach students whose colored dots match one of the ribbons on their (the employer’s) name tag.

• If it appears as if there is a mutual interest, offer the employer a copy of your

resume and ask for their business card so that you can follow up with a thank-you note.

• Talk to as many employers as you can. Remember, government and non-profits

have positions requiring business functions. Do not make assumptions about employers and their opportunities; instead ask them about their opportunities.

• Each employer is assigned a student host. Their job is to help facilitate the

interaction between students and employers. If you can’t find a particular employer, come to the south check-in table to identify the student host assigned to that particular organization. Find them and they’ll introduce you. Their job is to help you connect.

• If you lose your name tag, please stop by the registration table to make another one.
